Position Purpose:
The Marketing Excellence (Senior) Manager plays a critical role in leading the strategic development and continuous evolution of Marketing Capabilities and Best Practices to for a competitive edge of J&J IM. This includes identifying gaps in the current organizational marketing capabilities and structures, envisioning and defining capabilities needed for the future commercial model and augmenting capabilities through appropriate tools and/or learning experiences across the organization.
Role & Responsibility:
- This position reports to the Head of Marketing and Launch Excellence, Commercial Excellence, Japan.
- This position will be a key contact person to and liaise with Japan business leaders as well as regional stakeholders, and as such needs to align well with regional and local business strategies
- This role augments Marketing Capabilities through thought leadership and inspiration, and ensures the J&J IM way of doing Marketing is constantly evolving and remains competitive in an ever-changing landscape. (Digitalization, Omni-channel engagement, Marketing Automation, Agile approach, New Go-To-Market etc.)
- This role leads Marketing Excellence communities and ensure cross-functional best practice sharing

- Continuously update the competency model for marketing managers
- Manage competency assessments and gap analyses
- Based on the results, identify opportunities for further growth
Strategy Review Process
- Manage annual brand strategy review processes
- Provide guidance to support brand strategy development, which helps brand leaders to formulate/elaborate their plans through a compelling storyline
Knowledge Library
- Further evolve the knowledge platform, enabling marketers to smoothly and effectively executing on their daily tasks by consolidating all the necessary procedures, tools, and materials in one place
CoE of Marketing Training
- Support the business via Marketing Excellence coaching and training programs delivery
- Deliver training sessions, workshops, and coaching to help teams understand and adopt the J&J IM marketing excellence framework, thereby contributing to improve the quality of brand strategies
- Establish and manage forums and collaboration networks to foster sharing of best practices
Requirements
Experiences:
- 5 years or more of pharmaceutical marketing experience at a Pharma/Biotech company
- Experience of / involvement in the creation of a brand strategy as a brand manager in a Pharma/Biotech company
- Demonstrate a track record of business results in complex and ambitious marketing environments
Skills and Capabilities:
- Cross-functional team leadership, ability to work collaboratively with various stakeholders
- Ability to develop trusted relationships in the organization
- Strategic thinking based on analytical, critical and logical approach
- Ability to manage your own tasks independently
- Thinking outside the box, inspiring others through insights into latest developments and own experience/expertise
