Overview
We are seeking a highly skilled Telecom Automation Analyst to design, build, and optimize automation tools that improve accuracy, speed, and visibility across telecom program operations. This role will support cross-functional teams by streamlining data workflows, building automated reporting engines, and creating scalable solutions using Excel, VBA, Smartsheet, and other automation platforms.
Key Responsibilities
• Develop, maintain, and enhance automation tools using Excel, VBA, Smartsheet, Power Query, Power Shell, and other scripting/reporting tools.
• Build integrations and data pipelines between Smartsheet, Excel, databases, and internal telecom systems.
• Automate manual processes to reduce cycle times, eliminate errors, and increase team productivity across centralized functional teams.
• Create macros and custom functions for data cleansing, validation, and transformation using VBA and other tools.
• Collaborate with internal teams to understand existing process pain points and convert them into automation solutions.
• Ensure data integrity by developing validation rules, error checks, and standardized templates.
• Support high-volume telecom programs (build, fiber, mobility, transport, etc.) by providing automated tools that scale with regional workload.
• Document workflows and maintain version control for all automations and tools.
• Train end users on new automation capabilities and provide troubleshooting support.
Required Qualifications
• Advanced proficiency in Excel, including formulas, pivot tables, Power Query, Power Pivot, and data modeling.
• Strong VBA development skills for building custom applications, macros, and automation scripts.
• Experience creating and managing Smartsheet automations, dashboards, sheets, and workflows.
• Experience supporting telecom operations or construction (fiber, mobility, OSP/ISP, transport, etc.).
• Proven ability to automate high-volume, repetitive processes with accuracy.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with shifting priorities and tight deadlines.
• Strong analytical, troubleshooting, and documentation skills.
• Must be able to work for any US employer without visa sponsorship.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience integrating Excel/Smartsheet with APIs or data connections.
• Experience with telecom systems
• Knowledge of telecom milestones, construction workflows, and project lifecycle.
• Background in Program Management, Operations, or Data Analytics.

Compensation
The annual starting salary for this position is between $100,000 - $120,000 annually. Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
