Toyota is looking for team members who are passionate about technology and interested in joining a collaborative and highly motivated team as a Principal Engineer I – Cybersecurity Data Protection. #cyber
The primary responsibility of this role is to provide expert-level security architecture guidance on securing our Unix/Linux infrastructure hosted in North American facilities and Cloud environments.
Reporting to the Senior Manager of Cyber Tools Operations and Strategy (CTOS), the individual in this role will join the Core Cybersecurity Team to develop, deploy, and maintain advanced, enterprise-wide security solutions.
What You'll Be Doing:
Design, implement, and manage security solutions that protect sensitive information across our enterprise.
Deploy, configure, and manage Varonis Data Security Platform components to monitor data access, detect anomalies, and enforce data governance policies – regardless of data storage location (on-premises or cloud).
Conduct regular audits and risk assessments to identify vulnerabilities and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
Collaborate with IT, cybersecurity, compliance, and business teams to develop data protection policies.
Write data classification and loss prevention rules to monitor, regulate, and alert on data exchange that violates policies and procedures.
Report upon and remediate access control lists where there is excessive access to data.

Provide training and guidance to stakeholders on data security best practices and Varonis platform usage.
Stay current with emerging cybersecurity threats, data protection technologies, and industry standards.
What You Bring:
Extensive hands-on experience with the Varonis suite of products, including Data Security Platform, DatAdvantage, DataPrivilege, and related modules – both in the on-premises model and the SaaS model.
Experience building, deploying, troubleshooting and maintaining Varonis collectors in a global environment with diverse data repositories.
Proficiency in analyzing logs, alerts, and security events to identify and mitigate risks.
Familiarity with common data storage technologies (NAS, SAN, cloud storage) and database systems.
Added Bonus If You Have:
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to communicate complex security concepts to technical and non-technical audiences.
Certifications: Varonis Core Technical Engineer, Varonis Certified Administrator, DatAdvantage, Varonis Certified Remediation Engineer, or other relevant Varonis certifications.
