Program Summary

With a five-year base period and three one-year options, KBR ensures these bases operate smoothly, allowing deployed personnel to focus on mission execution.
Job Summary
The Publicist/Librarian is responsible for creating and managing publicity materials for Force Support programs while providing support to the Base Library. Approximately 80% of the role focuses on publicity and marketing, including graphic design, social media, and photography, while 20% involves assisting the Librarian with library operations, inventory, and patron services. This position requires creativity, strong communication skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Roles and Responsibilities
Publicist Duties (Primary – 80%)
• Develop and distribute publicity materials for Force Support programs using graphic design and written media.
• Update official public web page, Commanders AFN channel, marquee, and social media platforms.
• Create flyers, digital signage, and monthly PowerPoint slides detailing upcoming activities.
• Ensure events are publicized at least 10 days prior or within one day of receiving late requests.
• Maintain and update the Services website using WordPress and/or HTML.
• Provide photography support for events and incorporate photos into publicity materials and presentations.
• Post flyers on designated bulletin boards across the installation.
• Attend publicity meetings and produce monthly events calendar.
• Perform additional administrative tasks as needed to support marketing projects.
Library Support Duties (Secondary – 20%)
• Assist Librarian in publicizing and implementing Air Force Library programs.
• Help maintain inventory of books and media formats; assist with reviewing and purging collections.
• Support preparation of required reports (weekly activity reports, monthly QC reports, and annual SLAR).
• Assist patrons with basic library services, including computer use and educational programs (e.g., DANTES, CLEP).
• Help maintain internet computers/laptops for patron use.
• Distribute used magazines/paperbacks to designated areas (lodging, fitness center, community center).
• Provide informational brochures on local cultural activities and events.
• Offer on-site support for library-related events as directed.
Basic Qualifications
- High school diploma/GED or equivalent required; bachelor’s degree in related field preferred.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience in marketing, publicity, or library support roles.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and Adobe Creative Suite (Illustrator, Photoshop).
• Ability to update websites using WordPress and/or HTML.
• Strong interpersonal and written communication skills; ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Available to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings and Saturdays.
Preferred Qualifications
- English Level C1 certification
- Experience in graphic design, social media management, and photography.
- Familiarity with library operations and customer service.
- Military experience desired.
- Supervisory experience is a plus.
