The Janitor is responsible for the cleanliness of communal spaces, restrooms, workspaces, and outside areas as assigned.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Maintain cleanliness of communal space, restrooms, workspaces, and outside areas as assigned.
- Sweep, dust, scrub, strip floors, wax, buff, clean windows, and empty trash cans as assigned.
- Provide an in-depth cleaning of restrooms, including but not limited to urinals, commodes, walls, mirrors, sinks, floors etc.
- Move and/or relocate furniture.
- Maintain records and inventory of cleaning supplies and prepares lists of supplies to be purchased.
- Use cleaning equipment including electric floor buffers, mops, large wringers, and other necessary equipment, tools, chemicals, and supplies.
- Issue / distribute hand soap, paper towels and toilet paper.
- Comply with Foreign Object Damage (FOD), Hazardous Waste and Tool Control Programs.
- Comply with all established general and industrial Safety rules and regulations as applicable to the contract, facility, and job assignment.
- Assist as directed to ensure Safety, security and preservation of government / company owned equipment.
- Climbing, standing, stooping, bending, stretching, and working I uncomfortable positions
- Required to lift 50 lbs.
- Required to handle hazardous materials.
- Required to wear protective clothing and Personal Protective Equipment
Perform all other position related duties as assigned or requested.
Minimum Position Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Must have 1 year of janitorial/custodian experience.
- Must be able to obtain/maintain any company/government required qualification, certification, licensing, or security clearance.
- Must be able to work any assigned shift or schedule.
- Must be able to read, write, understand, and communicate the Engle language and follow verbal and written instruction.
- Working knowledge of applicable industrial maintenance equipment, cleaning chemicals and supplies
- Requires shift work.
- Must have a valid State Driver’s License
Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands:
The diversity of working conditions may range from standard shop type environment where there may be no physical discomfort to an environment where inclement weather may subject individual to severe changes in temperature, wind, rain, etc. May be required to work in high noise hazards area.
