Juniper is an innovative lighting technology, design, and manufacturing company seeking a dedicated Manufacturing Associate to join our growing team in Southington, CT.
As part of our fabrication department, you’ll play a vital role in preparing and finishing precision metal components that define Juniper’s high-end lighting products. This hands-on position involves working with industrial paints, patina finishes, and polishing processes to achieve the highest levels of craftsmanship and surface quality. You’ll operate modern equipment, learn advanced metal-finishing techniques, and collaborate closely with production and design teams to bring creative ideas to life.
This role is ideal for someone who takes pride in precision, enjoys hands-on creative work, and thrives in a collaborative, detail-oriented environment.
Schedule: Full-time, Monday–Thursday (6:30 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.); Friday (6:30 a.m. – 10:30 a.m.)
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Polish and finish brass and aluminum parts using stationary and handheld tools, including grinders, buffers, and sanders.
- Prepare and condition metal surfaces through mechanical or chemical treatments for patina and finishing applications.
- Operate spraying and coating equipment to apply industrial paint and surface finishes.
- Inspect components for accuracy, consistency, and quality according to Juniper’s standards.
- Support other production areas as needed, including assembly, quality control, shipping, and receiving.
- Maintain a clean, organized workstation and ensure the safe, proper use of tools and equipment.
Minimum Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- At least one year of experience in a production or manufacturing environment.
- Experience with brass and aluminum preferred.
- Experience in polishing, industrial painting, or welding is a plus.
- Strong mechanical aptitude and proficiency with power tools.
- Attention to detail, good eyesight, and excellent hand-eye coordination.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
