As a Graduate Systems Engineer you will work as part of a team to understand our clients’ problems and to develop viable solutions to those problems. Client problems are analysed and defined, and requirements developed and managed that underpin the successful design, realisation, utilisation and disposal of engineered systems. Over your time with us, you could get involved in everything from nuclear power generation, defence, space, and decommissioning.

We are looking for candidates who:

Have completed an undergraduate or master’s degree level qualification in a STEM subject by summer 2026.

And with the following Key Skills & Attributes:

Systems Thinking: Ability to consider the 'whole' system and its individual parts. Understand that different parts of the system influence and depend upon one another.

Strong Communication Skills: Ability to engage with technical and non-technical stakeholders clearly and confidently.

Analytical Thinking: Ability to critically evaluate data and draw conclusions

Team Collaborator: Ability to work effectively within a team but also independently

Organization & Time Management: ability to juggle multiple tasks and meet deadlines

Initiative & Curiosity: eager to take ownership, ask questions, and seek out opportunities to grow

Customer Focus: this is a consultancy role so experience of working with customers is also beneficial - not necessarily in a scientific role, other roles such as retail or hospitality would be suitable too

Flexibility: a willingness to try engaging in new skill areas or potentially travel to our client sites.

You must be:

A flexible self-starter, who is keen to drive their career forward.

Adaptable to change, with a thirst for learning new things.

Degree Qualification: A completed undergraduate or master’s degree in a STEM subject

And:

Right to Work: You must be a British National as BPSS and Security Clearance is required, as a minimum, for this role.

Selection Process:  

Step 1: Apply Online 

Step 2:  Successful candidates will be invited to complete an online assessment

Step 3: Those who are selected will be invited to a final face to face interview with our operations teams.

Step 4: Selected candidates will be offered an opportunity to join Amentum Graduate Programme in September 2026
