About the Team
InfraSec Reliability SRE and Ops runs the production security controls and the workflows that support them. We own SLOs, on call, change management, and continuous improvement. We partner with InfraSec Innovation to receive operationalized controls and with Automation Engineering to turn mature workflows into code. Our approach is platform agnostic and works across public cloud and private cloud. We measure success by SLOs, adoption, and hours of toil removed.
About the Role
You are a hands-on engineer with a primary focus on operations. You keep controls healthy, handle front line tickets and alerts, and make changes safe by following clear procedures. You write and update playbooks, standard operating procedures, and step by step workflows under guidance from senior engineers. You incubate automation by capturing real production tasks as well defined workflows with triggers, inputs, prechecks, post verification, rollback, evidence capture, and success criteria that are consistently repeatable. You hand these to Automation Engineering with ready to build acceptance criteria. You also operate what you document, participate in on call with supervision, and close reliability gaps through steady improvements.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Front line operations. Own tickets and alerts within your scope, escalate quickly when needed, restore service, and help keep SLOs green.
• Execute changes safely. Follow approved change plans, run canaries, verify results, and perform rollback when directed with clear records and communication.
• Write and update playbooks and SOPs. Produce step by step actions with triggers, inputs, prechecks, post verification, rollback, success criteria, and evidence capture.
• Incubate automation. Capture workflow states, approvals, data fields, API calls, and ChatOps and ITSM payloads so work is ready for Automation Engineering to implement.
• Maintain fleet health. Check agent coverage and configuration compliance and drive remediation tasks to closure.
• Strengthen observability. Build and maintain dashboards, tune alerts with senior guidance, and participate in weekly reviews to reduce noise and improve time to restore.
• Improve telemetry quality. Keep collectors, forwarders, and queues healthy by running health checks and tracking success rate, latency, and backlog.
• Support problem management. Contribute to post incident reviews and update playbooks and knowledge articles with the agreed fixes.
• Document and share. Keep runbooks, knowledge base articles, and service catalogs current and easy to follow.
• Partner to outcomes. Work with InfraSec Innovation on operability and readiness and with Automation Engineering to ensure smooth handoffs and strong adoption.
About You
Basic Qualifications
• One to three years in security, reliability, platform, or DevOps operations with experience running production services or workflows.
• Proven experience following and improving SOPs and playbooks and assisting with change windows and incident response.
• Working proficiency with Python and Terraform to run safe scripts and small infrastructure changes under review.
• Comfortable working across public cloud and private cloud.
• Integrations experience with ITSM and ChatOps such as ServiceNow or Jira and Slack including evidence capture and approvals.
• Bachelor’s in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Systems, or equivalent practical experience.
Other Qualifications
• Familiarity with policy as code, validation checks, and drift detection.
• Observability skills including metrics, logs, and traces and the ability to build useful dashboards.
• Strong reliability mindset including least privilege, secret management, and careful change execution.
• Clear communication, attention to detail, willingness to learn, and solid collaboration across time zones.
Our Approach to Flexible Work
With Flex Work, we’re combining the best of both worlds: in-person time and remote. Our approach enables our teams to deepen connections, maintain a strong community, and do their best work. We know that flexibility can take shape in many ways, so rather than a number of required days in-office each week, we simply spend at least half (50%) of our time each quarter in the office or in the field with our customers, prospects, and partners (depending on role). This means you'll have the freedom to create a flexible schedule that caters to your business, team, and personal needs, while being intentional to make the most of time spent together. Those in our remote "home office" roles also have the opportunity to come together in our offices for important moments that matter.
