Work Arrangement : Hybrid: This role is categorized as hybrid. This means the successful candidate is expected to report to GM Global Technical Center – Cole Engineering Center, Warren, MI , three times per week, at minimum.

This internship offers a unique opportunity to dive into the world of Global Purchasing & Supply Chain, where you will play a crucial role in shaping the next generation of automotive solutions and help reimagine how we source, buy, and move materials at scale. This GPSC MBA internship places you at the center of our operations. This may include solving complex challenges, innovating with industry leaders, and collaborating cross-functionally. This 10- to 12-week internship is designed for current college students eager to gain hands-on experience and make impactful contributions to our team.

Required Qualifications:

Currently enrolled in an MBA program

Must be graduating between December 2026 - June 2027

2–5 years of professional experience in procurement, supply chain, technology, consulting, or business strategy

Able to work full-time, 40 hours per week during the summer months
What Will Give You a Competitive Edge (Preferred Qualifications):

Experience leading cross‑functional initiatives including developing standards, integrating systems within existing operations, and partnering with engineering, IT, and supply chain teams to deliver scalable, compliant solutions

Experience or coursework in process improvement, digital transformation, analytics, or technology‑enabled operations, with the ability to translate business problems into data‑driven insights and recommendations

Exposure to digital process mapping, automation tools, or operational systems redesign, with the ability to analyze inefficiencies and propose data‑enabled improvements across purchasing or supply chain workflows

Process & ops orientation: Demonstrated experience improving business processes or applying analytics in procurement, operations, finance, consulting, or tech

Communication & influence: Ability to distill complex analyses into simple, actionable insights for non‑technical stakeholders

Proficient with emerging technologies (AI, robotics, IoT, RPA) and Microsoft office products - Word, Excel, PowerPoint

Concentration focus in Operations, Supply Chain, Strategy, Analytics, or related field

Previous purchasing, logistics, or supply chain experience with an emphasis on automation optimization

Demonstrated expertise in sourcing, supplier management, logistics, complex supply chains or information systems supporting these functions, including risk mitigation

Familiarity with automotive/manufacturing value chains, tariff/USMCA considerations, and sustainability KPIs in supply chain
