What You Will Do
Johnson Controls is seeking an Electrical Engineer in the Sustaining Engineering group for our Fire Detection product team! You will have the opportunity to work with exciting life-saving products in the fire detection field, including control panels, detectors, and notification devices. This role focuses on maintaining and enhancing existing fire detection hardware and ensure long-term product reliability, regulatory compliance, and customer satisfaction. This position is based in Westford, MA. Candidates must be commuting distance to the office, or able to relocate. Johnson Controls offers various relocation packages to fit your needs.
How You Will Do It
- Analyze and resolve hardware issues in existing products
- Collaborate with global engineering, customer support, and compliance teams
- Implement design improvements and cost optimizations
- Support product lifecycle activities, including component obsolescence and redesigns
- Maintain documentation and ensure alignment with regulatory standards
What you will need
Required
- Degree in Electrical Engineering
- 3+ years experience in embedded hardware design and troubleshooting
- Proficiency with debugging tools (oscilloscope, logic analyzer)
Preferred
- Experience with low-power analog circuit design
- Knowledge of AC/DC and DC/DC converters
- Familiarity with microcontrollers and embedded systems
HIRING SALARY RANGE: $85,000 - $120,000 (Salary to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, and alignment with market data.)
