What You Will Do:

Responsibilities include leading Asheville’s material management, Production Planning and Scheduling, Warehousing, MRP planning, Shop Floor Control and Delivery Assurance.
-
In addition, the materials manager will take an active role in manufacturing transformation initiatives and implementation of the Information Technology (IT) strategy for the organization.
-
The flow of material is critical to the success of every manufacturing operation.
-
As part of the growth and technology insertion in Airfoil value stream, the materials manager will also play a key role in the manufacturing automation strategy, material release strategy, handling methods, kitting strategy and material movement methods for all parts from storage location thru to final delivery to/from the Northeast Logistics Center to HSMCS.

Success will be measured by developing strategies and executing goals and objectives to meet capacity requirements, inventory controls, cost reduction objectives, on time delivery, and control tower measures.

The individual will have direct leadership responsibility for the materials team and be working directly with P&W Module Centers & Operations leadership.
Key Responsibilities:

Be able to communicate effectively, understand the manufacturing environment and display business acumen.

Excel at forward thinking and ensure that MC&O is transforming to meet the customer demands of a difficult manufacturing environment.

Define strategies and coordinate activities through multiple organizations

Establish standards and expectations for work effort and performance

Give constant feedback on performance to those standards

Implement IT measures to insure value streams and shop operations are healthy at all times and/or to be able to identify areas of opportunity quickly

Communicate effectively with other organizations and customers to ensure customer satisfaction.

Communicate to peers, the requirements that support processes to ensure smooth production flow.

Establish work schedules taking into account customer requirements, resource availability, and other priorities
-
Provide the high level of oversight required to meet key metrics in the mod center including: Military and Commercial Sold Overdue, Inventory, ANDON and commercial workstops.
Qualifications You Must Have:
-
BS/BA degree or equivalent experience and minimum 12 years prior relevant experience, or An Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 10 years experience

US Citizenship required due to government contracts
-
Excellent leadership, communication, problem solving, analytical, prioritization and multi-tasking skills
-
Ability to work with all levels of management
-
Advanced knowledge of information technology particularly in the area of Manufacturing Execution Systems (MES), Visual Factory, or automated systems Working knowledge of continuous improvement principles (e.g. lean manufacturing, ACE, QCPC)

Onsite: Employees who are working in Onsite roles will work primarily onsite. This includes all production and maintenance workers, as they are essential to the development of our engines.

The salary range for this role is 157,200 USD - 298,800 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
