Amentum is seeking a Supply Technician in the Williamsburg area of Virginia. The Supply Technician performs limited aspects of technical supply management work (e.g., inventory management, storage management, cataloging, and property utilization) related to depot, local, or other supply activities. Work usually is segregated by commodity area or function, and controlled in terms of difficulty, complexity, or responsibility. Assignments usually relate to stable or standardized segments of technical supply management operations; or to functions or subjects that are narrow in scope or limited in difficulty. The work generally involves individual case problems or supply actions.
Job Requirements:
- Process and monitor supply requisitions to ensure seamless procurement of goods and services.
- Act as a liaison between departments, ensuring supply requests are fulfilled accurately and on time.
- Maintain records of supply orders, including purchase requests, approvals, vendor correspondence, and delivery schedules.
- Collaborate with vendors to obtain quotes, negotiate pricing, and ensure procurement is aligned with company policies.
- Ensure adherence to procurement guidelines and verify vendor compliance with contractual agreements.
- Resolve supply or delivery issues promptly by coordinating with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Work closely with the finance team to ensure supplies and services are accurately recorded in financial systems.
- Reconcile purchase records, invoices, and payments to ensure financial reporting accuracy.
- Assist in preparing expense forecasts for supply chain activities, providing insights into procurement trends and budget allocation.
- Support month-end and year-end close processes by ensuring all supply-related financial data is correct, complete, and submitted on time.
- Develop and enhance supply chain workflows to improve efficiency and reduce lead times in the ordering process.
- Ensure compliance with organizational policies related to procurement and supply chain management.
- Assist in audits related to supply and financial operations by providing documentation and addressing queries.
- Serve as the primary point of contact for supply-related inquiries, resolving issues proactively and professionally.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with departments to identify supply chain needs and advise on solutions that align with organizational goals.
- Provide regular updates on supply chain activities, procurement costs, and vendor performance.
Minimum Requirements:
- Previous experience in supply chain or inventory management
- Familiarity with inventory management software
- Strong organizational and multitasking skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Attention to detail and high level of accuracy
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Knowledge of safety and quality control procedures
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite
- High school diploma or GED
- Basic understanding of supply chain processes
- Good physical condition with the ability to lift and move heavy items
- Strong problem-solving abilities
- Reliable and punctual
- Willingness to undergo relevant training and certifications
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Must have Government issued clearance at time of application
Service Contract Act (SCA) Compensation & Benefits:
This is an hourly, overtime-eligible position that falls under the Service Contract Act (SCA). In accordance with the Health and Welfare provisions of the SCA, and in addition to your base hourly rate, you may be eligible to receive an additional health and welfare payment for each hour you work to ensure compliance with the minimums set forth by the act. The amount you are entitled to receive will vary depending upon the fringe benefits you select now and in the future.
