Position Summary:
This position is for a Lab Test Technician within the Hardware Quality Assurance organization. The role is responsible for executing test cases, supporting system and component-level verification, and preparing comprehensive test reports for hardware products across Mechanical, Hydraulic, Electrical, Electronics, and Embedded Software domains.
The Lab Test Technician will work closely with QA Engineers and cross-functional Hardware Engineering teams to ensure that test plans are executed accurately, test environments are properly configured, and results are documented with clarity and precision. This position plays a key role in validating new product introductions, sustaining engineering changes, and continuous improvement activities.
Position Responsibilities:
• Execute manual and automated test cases for hardware systems, subsystems, and components based on test procedures and engineering documentation.
• Perform system, functional, and regression tests on dispensers, controllers, hydraulics, electronics, and embedded systems as directed by QA Engineers.
• Set up and operate laboratory test equipment including oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, temperature chambers, vibration/shaker tables, and specialized hardware testing fixtures.
• Collect, record, and organize test data with high attention to detail to ensure traceability and compliance with standards.
• Support the creation, configuration, and maintenance of test environments, fixtures, instrumentation, and data acquisition systems.
• Identify, log, and clearly communicate defects, anomalies, and failures encountered during test execution.
• Work with QA Engineers to reproduce issues and support troubleshooting and root cause investigations.
• Assist in developing, refining, and maintaining test fixtures, test setups, and custom hardware used for testing.
• Prepare accurate and well-structured test reports summarizing procedures performed, data collected, and observed results.
• Support test automation efforts, including automation setup, device configuration, and basic script execution (as applicable).
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Mechanical, Electrical, Electronics, Firmware, and Product Development engineers as needed.
• Support general lab maintenance, equipment calibration activities, and housekeeping responsibilities to maintain a safe, compliant, and efficient work environment.
• Provide input on improving test workflows, fixture design, and overall QA processes to improve testing efficiency and consistency.
Qualification Requirements:
• Education: High school diploma plus two to three (2–3) years of relevant technical experience, or an associate degree, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Basic knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and/or electronic systems, components, and tools.
• Hands-on experience executing test procedures or working in engineering labs, manufacturing, or test environments.
• Familiarity with test equipment such as multimeters, oscilloscopes, power supplies, torque tools, pressure gauges, micrometers, etc.
• Ability to read and follow engineering drawings, test instructions, schematics, and procedures.
• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office tools (Excel, Word, Outlook) for test reporting and data documentation.
• Ability to clearly convey technical observations verbally and in writing.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Experience in Quality Assurance or system test environments.
• Exposure to test automation tools or automated test environments.
• Familiarity with fuel dispenser systems, electromechanical equipment, or embedded hardware.
• Understanding of UL, safety, or compliance standards related to hardware products.
• Experience working in global engineering environments or with cross-functional engineering teams.

• Strong organizational discipline and attention to detail in documenting test setups and results.
• Ability to work both individually and in team environments.
• Must be a self-starter capable of managing time, following instructions, and meeting deadlines.
• Ability to support troubleshooting and provide clear, structured feedback to engineering teams.
• Outstanding communication and reporting skills.
• Able to work safely in lab environments with various test tools and equipment.
