The Product Manager 2 plays a critical role in translating complex technical capabilities and business workflows into clear, intuitive product experiences. Core Responsibilities
Customer & Market Insight
- Internalizes and represents the voice of the customer across the product lifecycle, ensuring customer needs and real‑world workflows guide product decisions.
- Engages directly with users, SMEs, and operational partners to validate assumptions and uncover edge cases or unmet needs.
- Performs competitive analysis and market research to maintain an up‑to‑date view of trends, competitor capabilities, and market shifts.
Technical Translation & Requirements Definition
- Translates system capabilities, data flows, and technical constraints into clear product requirements and user experiences.
- Evaluates technical feasibility, tradeoffs, and implementation approaches in partnership with engineering, architects, and data scientists.
- Drafts and manages epics, user stories, acceptance criteria, use cases, and supporting documentation (e.g., business requirements, executive summaries, M&Ps).
- Conducts capability gap analysis and feasibility assessments to define what is desired vs. what is technically attainable.
User Experience & Workflow Design
- Partners closely with UX designers to define intuitive, efficient workflows that balance user needs with system realities.
- Contributes to wireframes, prototypes, and workflow models to ensure clarity, usability, and reduced complexity for end users.
- Leads concept design for end‑to‑end customer experiences, including expected lifecycle costs and operational considerations.
Execution‑Driven Product Delivery
- Breaks down product vision and opportunities into executable work: epics, stories, and backlog structures.
- Actively participates in backlog refinement, sprint planning, and delivery touchpoints to ensure alignment and progress.
- Coordinates with engineering and UX throughout development to validate that outputs meet intent and quality standards.
- Manages change requests and validates downstream deliverables, including conducting or supporting business acceptance testing.
Strategy, Financials & Product Planning
- Contributes to product vision and strategy across the team and broader organization.
- Participates in planning for enhancements to product content, features, pricing, and packaging.
- Supports budgeting and variance analysis for product performance to identify risks, opportunities, and areas for optimization.
Advanced Copilot & AI‑Assisted Product Workflows
- Leverages AI‑powered tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot) to accelerate product discovery, synthesis, documentation, and delivery.
- Uses AI to identify themes, risks, gaps, and opportunities across stakeholder inputs.
- Applies strong judgment to validate and refine AI‑generated content, ensuring alignment with business, technical, and user experience goals.
- Continuously experiments with AI tools to improve personal and team productivity.
Outcome‑Oriented Mindset
- Measures success through customer adoption, usability, operational efficiency, and overall business impact—not just feature completion.
- Incorporates feedback and learning into iterative improvements to deliver meaningful, measurable outcomes.
Qualifications:
- 5–8 years of experience in Product Management or a related technical product role.
- Ability to translate complex technical concepts, data flows, and system capabilities into clear product requirements and user‑centered experiences.
- Hands‑on experience writing epics, user stories, acceptance criteria, and product documentation for development teams.
- Strong collaboration skills with engineering, UX, data science, and subject matter experts.
- Experience contributing to workflow design, wireframes, prototypes, or usability improvements.
- Skilled at breaking down ambiguous problem spaces into structured product opportunities and actionable work.
- Proficiency with AI‑powered tools (e.g., Microsoft Copilot) to accelerate discovery, documentation, and product delivery.
- Strong analytical and communication skills, including the ability to explain technical concepts to non‑technical audiences.
- Experience participating in backlog refinement, sprint ceremonies, and cross‑functional delivery activities.
- Demonstrated focus on outcomes such as usability, efficiency, adoption, and business impact.
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Information Systems, Business, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- Advanced degree (e.g., MBA, MS) is a plus but not required.
