Job Summary
As Director for Product Management, you will lead the strategy and execution of Comcast Technology and Product business unit’s strategic initiatives, transforming from existing broadband technologies to a new standard, setting industry benchmarks, and disrupting the internet communications industry while delivering enhanced experience across millions of customers. You will oversee Technical Program and Product Managers, ensuring successful delivery of our next generation Internet Connectivity to our customers. Job Description
Core Responsibilities
- Directs, establishes, maintains and plans the overall policies and goals for a product management department.
- Sets new product strategy for program or product group.
- Applies expertise in state-of-the-art product technologies and is relied on by top management to serve as a proxy for the market.
- Defines, develops and implements standard operational frameworks for products.
- Coordinates with sales and marketing to assess client and industry needs and identifies possible solutions to meet those needs.
- Accountable for profit and loss or budgetary management of assigned products.
- Develops business cases and supporting documentation.
- Oversees development of assigned new products and services and ensures customer's needs are met. Provides product support and documentation and develops of product materials.
- Manages lifecycle of new products and services.
- Demonstrates excellent project management skills, with a proven track record of successful delivery of projects on time, in line with budget expectations and to strategy.
- Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
Develops cross-functional plans, objectives and strategies. Interprets company goals into functional goals and strategies.
Provides leadership and management to the Program Management team.
Possesses staffing accountability, including recruitment and retention, leadership and professional development and performance management.
Provides support for corporate budgeting and budget tracking.
Acts as a primary point of contact for senior management stakeholders.
Recommends and implements corrective action across organizations, as necessary, to improve program performance.
- Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and overtime as necessary.
- Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Required Skills:
- 7-10 years of product management expertise with the ability to analyze product management activities for several products, or one key product. Serves as a resource to other product managers, assisting them in the resolution of semi-complex problems or may lead them on larger projects
- 7-10 years of execution expertise. Ability to execute GTM strategy, develop a plan to communicate value to internal and external stakeholders, facilitate the design, development, and implementation of training.
- Possesses a strong understanding of connectivity and Wi‑Fi technologies, including hands‑on experience throughout the product lifecycle.
- Develop business case and financial modeling to ensure product viability. Partner with Finance to create a sustainable business model with profitability at its core, ensuring financial viability and long-term success through strategic financial planning and investment decisions
- Become a connectivity offering expert by staying at the forefront of broadband technologies, identifying industry trends, and developing best practices for implementing cutting-edge connectivity solutions
- Product development expertise and able to lead product development managing program(s) across various teams and workstreams ensuring all efforts converge to deliver the intended value
- Project management expertise and possess advanced project management skills to effectively plan, execute, and oversee complex projects within the program, ensuring they align with key product goals and deadlines
- Customer Sentiment Reporting – Establishes "voice of the customer" data needs and align on data sources and ownership that will reflect customer sentiment with product adoption
- Effective communication is crucial for conveying product objectives, program goals, progress, and challenges to stakeholders, including executives, team members, clients, and external partners. The ability to adapt communication styles to different audiences is key.
- Strong leadership abilities are essential for guiding and motivating multidisciplinary teams towards achieving product and program objectives. This includes fostering collaboration, resolving conflicts, and providing direction to team members.
- Strategic thinking is essential for aligning product initiatives with broader organizational objectives and anticipating future challenges and opportunities. The ability to make informed decisions quickly and decisively, considering various factors and perspectives, is vital for successful product delivery
