What You Will Do
The Engineering Intern is responsible for mechanical analysis and/or electrical analysis, detailed design, and control, as well as overall performance of HVAC equipment. In this position you will provide support to production, laboratory, service, applications, and marketing teams located globally. You will work in close collaboration with other engineers and manufacturing personnel to deliver market leading products.
How You Will Do It
As an Engineering Intern, you may be responsible for tasks such as:
- Use SolidWorks, AutoCAD and other software to create or modify models, drawings and DXF’s of HVAC units, components, parts and assemblies.
- Design and modify sheet metal and insulation parts and assemblies.
- Design electrical wiring schematics and control requirements for products.
- Create assembly bill of materials containing sub parts, raw materials, and purchased components.
- Execute design improvements to optimize manufacturability and increase product quality
- Develop and maintain engineering design and documentations standards
- Oversee lab testing and create test plans to validate various components and/or systems
- Maintain cost reduction project priorities, deadlines, and forecasted cost savings
- Collaborate with production to build prototype and mockup products
Required Qualifications
What we look for:
- Currently enrolled as a full-time student at an accredited U.S. college or university
- Pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Engineering Physics, or Similar Technical Degree
- An effective communicator to all levels of the organization
- Must have demonstrated computer skills, including use of Microsoft Excel, Outlook, and other Microsoft Office Products
- U.S. citizen or legal right to work in the U.S.
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrates an ability to learn quickly and independently
- Strong communication skills (verbal and written) preferred
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Experience with CAD software (SolidWorks and/or AutoCAD preferred)
- Ability to work cross-functionally
HIRING HOURLY RANGE: $21.00 - $24.00 (Hourly rate to be determined by the education, experience, knowledge, skills, and abilities of the applicant, internal equity, location and alignment with market data.)
