The Opportunity
We are seeking a talented Senior Electrical Engineer - Avionics to support a world class airborne surveillance, communications and battle management system, the E-7A Wedgetail. Working in the Sustainment team we are responsible for current and emerging Royal Australian Air Force (RAAF) customer needs. This role will be based at our Adelaide, Amberly or Williamtown Office.
As a Senior Electrical Engineer - Avionics within BDA, you will:
- Use your electrical/electronics expertise in the development, review and/or approval of diverse engineering solutions for integrated avionics, COTS equipment and custom electrical power, simulation and control systems.
- Installation of system hardware infrastructure and associated connectivity.
- Development, review and/or approval of engineering documentation and configuration management for all associated modifications and amendments.
- Work with the project team to ensure the engineering scope is delivered within the quality, schedule and budgetary constraints of the project.
- The ability to effectively communicate and collaborate with a diverse, multi-disciplinary team, in a conscientious and inclusive way.
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical or Electronic Engineering, or equivalent.
- Familiarity with standard engineering change processes.
- Applicants must be Australian Citizens to meet Defence NV1 security requirements.
- Have experience working in the Avionics domain on civil/defence aircraft or proven experience in other industries which could be transferrable.
- Commitment to quality, safety and continuous improvement.
- Have proven high level of written and oral communication skills.
- Have experience working within a Technical Regulatory Framework (or similar).
