MANTECH seeks a motivated, customer oriented Forensics Intern to join our DFEND program in Herndon, VA. All work is onsite.
The DFEND (Dominion Forensic Engineering and Development) program is an internship program for students pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Information Technology or other STEM field. Interns are given meaningful, challenging assignments at an individual and group level.
This program is for students entering their senior year of high school or freshman year of college. Candidates must be US Citizens eligible for a Security Clearance to be considered for this role.
Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To
- Working four days/week experiencing forensic technologies in a real-world lab environment with dedicated mentors on-site in Herndon, VA.
- Conducting forensics research and development in hardware engineering, programming, reverse engineering, computer forensics and mobile forensics.
Required Qualifications
- U.S. Citizen eligible to obtain a US Security Clearance
- Current full-time student intending to pursue or actively pursuing BS in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field with a projected expected graduation date of 2029-2030
- Knowledge of a scripting language (Python, C#, etc)
- Familiarity with a mix of operating systems (Windows, macOS, Linux distros)
- Interest in Digital Forensics
- Desire to learn quickly and ability to demonstrate creativity while collaborating with fellow students and mentors
- Ability to work on-site in Herndon, VA
Physical Requirements
- The person in this position must be able to remain in a stationary position 50% of the time
- Occasionally move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, or to communicate with co-workers, management, and customers, via email, phone, and virtual communication, which may involve delivering presentations
