Required Skills:
Requires a High School Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 12 years of machinist experience.
Familiarity in at least one CNC programming language.
Proficient with standard concepts, practices, and procedures.
Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
Preferences:
- Technical aptitude to operate Mazak Lathes with Mazatrol programming experience. Sets up, and operates Mazak CNC lathes to produce precision metal parts according to technical drawings and specifications. Key responsibilities include editing programs (often using G-code or Mazatrol), performing first-piece and in-process inspections with precision measuring tools like micrometers and calipers, and performing routine machine maintenance. This role requires a strong understanding of machine tools, materials, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing).

Develop CNC/Lathe programs to control machining or processing of metal or plastic parts by automatic machine tools, equipment, or systems, experience in .stp files, CREO, and/or MasterCam, Mazatrol interpreting project blueprints, designing programs and setting up machines to produce the component outlined in the program
Proficiency in the programming of CNC Mills and Lathes with CAD CAM is a plus; ProE, GibbsCAM, or Conversational CNC with multi axis programming.
Experience on the following machine tool types: Mazak Lathes, HAAS Machining Centers, Hurco Machining Centers, Servo, Mazak Machining Centers.
5-Axis - MasterCam Programming experience, 5-Axis CNC, Haas, Okuma, Mazak, DMG Mori DMU, EDM, Water Jet, Amada Press Brake experience.
Experience with Horizontal multi axis or Vertical with 4th axis rotation with setup and tooling knowledge.
Overhead crane experience.
Handling of NASA flight hardware.

Climbing and maintaining balance on ladders, scaffolds, structures, etc. above and below ground level.
Lifting up to 50 pounds from ground level, waist level, and overhead (occasional).
Carrying up to 50 pounds for 3 feet (occasional).
Bending, kneeling, crouching/squatting and crawling from 1 to 30 minutes at a time.

Work Environment:
The Manufacturing Facility is a large, climate-controlled work area with an array of machining equipment. Exposure to uneven ground levels, various noise levels caused by power tools, machinery, equipment, etc.
Equipment and Machines:
Operate and maintain machining centers both manual and CNC (mills, lathes, drill presses, grinders, hones, borers, water jets, etc.), powered shop tools (grinders, wire wheels, etc.), shop equipment (presses, drills, sheet metal brakes, sanders, saws, shears, etc.), lifts, mobile hoists (cherry pickers), chain hoists, overhead cranes, pallet jacks (powered and unpowered), hand trolleys, 4-wheel dollies, hand tools, stands, clamps, vises, potential forklift.
Computer workstations, peripheral equipment to maintain/adjust database logs and records and print documents. Other office machines (printer, fax, etc.).
Attendance:
Regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is critical. Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements.
Other Essential Functions:
Must be able to work in a team atmosphere. Must put forward a professional behavior that enhances productivity and promotes teamwork and cooperation. Grooming and dress must be appropriate for the position and must not impose a safety risk/hazard to the employee or others.
