Position summary
About the team:
The Immersive Technology Solutions team develops highly realistic, interactive visualisations of KBR engineering projects for use by internal project teams and customers. These visual assets are frequently extended into customer‑focused web applications, immersive desktop experiences, and VR training tools. Our work blends engineering accuracy with real‑time technology to support complex design reviews, training, and specialised operational workflows.
Fields of Study:
We are seeking graduates of Computer Science, Software Engineering, Game Development, Game Programming, or related technical degrees with a focus on real‑time engines and interactive 3D applications.
Responsibilities:
The key responsibilities of the role will include, but are not limited to:
- Developing interactive features, tools, and systems within Unreal Engine or Unity, supporting desktop, AR, and VR training products.
- Implementing real‑time rendering techniques, optimisation strategies, and efficient content pipelines to support complex engineering visualisations.
- Integrating 3D models, materials, animations, and datasets into game engines with a focus on performance, usability, and accuracy.
- Building scripts, plugins, or small tools to assist with automation, workflow efficiency, or data transformation.
- Collaborating with 3D modellers, designers, engineers, and SMEs to implement features consistent with established visual and functional standards.
- Converting and preparing engineering data (e.g., CAD, GIS, point cloud) for real‑time applications.
- Testing, debugging, and refining interactive applications to meet quality and performance expectations.
- Using software and computer systems effectively to meet project requirements and documentation standards.
- Developing and maintaining up‑to‑date technical knowledge in game engines, rendering, optimisation, and real‑time workflows.
- Managing tasks, priorities, and deadlines in a project‑driven environment.
- Communicating clearly and professionally, demonstrating confidence when interacting with internal clients and stakeholders.
Qualifications, Skills and Experience:
• Must be an Australian citizen.
- Graduate of Computer Science, Software Engineering, Game Development/Programming, or a related technical degree.
- Experience using Unreal Engine or Unity to develop interactive scenes, scripts, or basic tools. Understanding of real‑time rendering principles, asset integration, materials, lighting, and performance optimisation. Familiarity with C++ (Unreal), C# (Unity), or other relevant programming languages.
- Basic understanding of 3D production workflows (modelling, materials, animation) is beneficial but not essential.
- A passion for real‑time technology, innovation, and solving complex technical challenges.
