IT Project Manager - Advisor I
What does a successful IT Project Manager do at Fiserv?
As an IT Project Manager - Advisor I, you drive simple to complex, high-priority technology projects that power Digital Payments Solutions. You coordinate cross-functional partners across Product Delivery, Release Management, and engineering to deliver outcomes on time, within budget, and within scope. Your work enables secure, reliable payment experiences for our clients while advancing consistent, scalable delivery practices across Fiserv.
What you'll do:
- Lead and coordinate cross-functional, cross-departmental, and occasionally cross-company teams to deliver Digital Payments Solutions projects from initiation through closure.
- Facilitate Program Increment (PI) planning sessions and core Agile ceremonies to align priorities, commitments, and dependencies.
- Ensure project methodologies, delivery processes, and implementation practices are followed, including schedule management, risk and issue management, and scope change control.
- Manage project budgets by validating estimates, tracking cost variances, and optimizing resource allocations.
- Provide program status via Mission Critical Program Updates (weekly) and Clarity Project Portfolio Management (PPM) reporting; deliver clear written and verbal communications to stakeholders.
- Partner with Release Management and Product Delivery to confirm release readiness and cutover plans.
- Support backlog and capacity management to govern new work intake, prioritization, and team loading.
- Create and maintain project and capacity forecasts, including allocations and variances; maintain Clarity PPM and Jira, and publish reports to ensure transparency.
Experience you'll need to have:
- 6+ years of progressive technology project management experience leading major application development projects in large operating environments.
- 6+ years delivering projects using Agile methodology (e.g., Scrum or Kanban), including PI planning, sprint ceremonies, backlog management, and release planning.
- Skills: Ability to manage 10–20 concurrent projects and assignments, balancing scope, schedule, budget, and risk.
- Skills: Proficiency with Clarity Project Portfolio Management (PPM) and Jira for budgeting, forecasting, reporting, and issue/risk tracking.
- Skills: Meeting management and stakeholder communication skills, including preparing agendas, facilitating decisions, documenting outcomes, and driving follow-up.
- Certifications: Project Management Professional (PMP) or Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) preferred, or equivalent training/experience.
- Education: Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Information Technology, Computer Science, Engineering, Business, or related field, or equivalent combination of education, related experience and/or military experience.
- 1+ years of Fiserv systems experience.
Experience that would be great to have:
- Domain experience in Digital Payments Solutions (issuers, acquirers, networks, or merchant services).
- Experience in scaled Agile environments (e.g., SAFe) and capacity planning across multiple teams.
- Certifications such as PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP) or SAFe Agilist (SA), or equivalent training.
How you'll work:
- This role is on-site Monday through Friday. Fiserv considers in-person collaboration to be an essential part of this role as in-person office experiences help you with your overall onboarding experience and leads to stronger productivity.
