Duties
- Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system to process customer transactions swiftly and accurately.
- Communicate effectively with customers to assist with inquiries and provide information about products and promotions.
- Utilize retail math skills to handle cash, credit, and debit transactions, ensuring precise change is given.
- Engage in upselling techniques to promote additional products during the checkout process.
- Maintain a clean and organized checkout area, ensuring all stock is replenished as needed.
- Conduct product demonstrations when required, showcasing new items to enhance customer interest.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure the smooth operation of the store and assist with stocking shelves as necessary.
Qualifications
- Previous experience in retail sales or a grocery store environment is preferred but not mandatory.
- Strong communication skills to interact positively with customers and team members.
- Basic math skills are essential for handling transactions and cash management.
- Ability to learn quickly and adapt to new systems, particularly POS technology.
- A proactive attitude towards upselling and promoting products effectively.
- Attention to detail in maintaining accurate transaction records and stock levels.
