Not RequiredThe System Integration & Test Engineer will join the Networks and Connectivity Engineering (NCE) team within our Connected Aviation business unit. NCE delivers the core aviation datalink service which provides air/ground data communications for airlines and business aviation, enabling the exchange of information from airborne subsystems to ground-based computers anywhere in the world. This is done by using VHF, HF, and satellite-based radio links and a private global network.
In this role, you will primarily perform integration and system acceptance testing in the later phases of the software development lifecycle and will also be involved in the up-front requirements and design phases. The system is very complex and is subject to continuous change as technologies and service offerings evolve. System components in the test environment include network management applications, relational database servers, real-time applications, and a variety of simulation tools.
What You Will Do:

Perform test design including development of operational scenarios when reviewing technical requirements and design packages.

Develop well-written system integration and acceptance test plans and procedures with clear objectives and traceability to requirements.

Integrate hardware and software components into the system test environment.

Build and maintain the test environment laboratory, including test simulation and analysis tools.

Conduct formal integration and system-level testing, including Factory Acceptance Testing to meet contractual obligations

Perform verification of functional and performance requirements in a production-like test environment using a variety of simulation test tools.

Perform validation of installation procedures and user documentation to ensure for a seamless integration into a high-availability system environment.

Identify and report bugs and issues found during integration and test activities.

Prepare well-written test reports for stakeholder review and participation in project closure activities.

Work onsite 4 days a week in our Annapolis, MD site- could be 5 days at times to meet the needs of the business.
Qualifications You Must Have:
-
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 2 years of prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field

Requires Prior experience analyzing system-level technical documentation including system requirements, system design, operational scenarios, and/or preparing system test plans and procedures.

Strong technical writing skills when preparing technical documentation for reviews and verbal communication skills when participating in project team discussions

Analytical mindset when solving complex problems by developing innovative solutions

The salary range for this role is 68,900 USD - 131,100 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels.
