Job Title: Senior Systems Engineer - Oracle Cloud Infrastructure
Location: New Brighton, MN - onsite
Seeking a Senior Systems Engineer to provide technical leadership for APi Group’s Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) platform. This role designs, implements, and manages OCI solutions supporting mission-critical business applications and data. Responsibilities include architecting secure, highly available, and compliant OCI environments, automating workflows, and collaborating across teams. Expertise in CI/CD pipelines, GitHub, and Azure DevOps is required. Experience with JD Edwards (JDE), Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC), and related systems is a plus. The position also involves cross-training team members and enhancing self-service and automation capabilities.
What You Will Do
- Design, implement, and manage secure, scalable OCI solutions.
- Architect and execute high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) strategies.
- Configure and maintain OCI networking (VCN, subnets, gateways, load balancers, firewalls, security groups, routing).
- Oversee data localization and compliance with global residency and privacy regulations (GDPR).
- Collaborate with network/security teams on secure architectures and access controls.
- Optimize OCI resources for cost, performance, and reliability.
- Automate infrastructure deployment (Terraform, OCI Resource Manager).
- Administer CI/CD pipelines (GitHub, Azure DevOps).
- Integrate OCI with CI/CD workflows and version control.
- Troubleshoot and resolve OCI, networking, security, and automation issues.
- Support cloud migration, integration, and international deployments.
- Maintain documentation for architecture, processes, and compliance.
- Lead cross-training for team members and participate in technical initiatives.
Basic Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field, or equivalent experience.
- 5-7 years of Systems Engineering experience.
- 3+ years of Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) experience (OCI required; AWS/Azure/GCP helpful).
- Experience with HA/DR strategies, OCI networking, and compliance (GDPR/global privacy).
- CI/CD pipeline administration (GitHub, Azure DevOps), automation/scripting.
- OCI Architect Associate or Professional certification (preferred).
- Strong knowledge of OCI compute, storage, networking, security, identity.
- Linux/Unix and Windows server administration in cloud environments.
- Familiarity with Oracle database/middleware (OIC) on OCI.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Flexibility for occasional travel and after-hours work.
- Self-directed and motivated.
Preferred/Additional Skills
- Advanced CI/CD pipeline design and optimization.
- JD Edwards (JDE), Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC), and middleware/cloud enterprise apps.
- Cloud networking architectures, VPNs, hybrid cloud solutions.
- Technical certifications (OCI Foundations, Architect Associate, etc.).
- Monitoring tools (Oracle Cloud Monitoring, Grafana).
- Scripting (Python, Shell, PowerShell).
- DevOps practices, automated testing frameworks.
- VMware deployment/support; Microsoft Azure (IaaS, PaaS).
Benefits and Compensation:
This role will be based out of our New Brighton office. The pay range is $88,000 - $132,000, depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. This position is eligible for annual bonus and profit sharing based on company performance in addition to other benefits that support the total well-being of you and your family.
