Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and reliable Rural Carrier Associate to join our team. This role involves delivering mail and packages efficiently across designated rural routes, ensuring timely service to customers. The ideal candidate will have a strong focus on customer service, safety, and efficient route management, supporting the community with dependable delivery services.
Duties
- Deliver mail, packages, and parcels along assigned rural routes using various types of delivery vehicles, including box trucks and courier vans.
- Load and unload items safely using equipment such as pallet jacks and forklifts when necessary.
- Drive commercial vehicles with manual transmissions, adhering to all traffic laws and safety regulations.
- Navigate route driving efficiently, ensuring timely deliveries while maintaining accuracy in delivery records.
- Assist with warehouse tasks related to loading and inventory management as needed.
- Perform heavy lifting and moving of packages up to specified weight limits to ensure proper delivery handling.
- Maintain accurate documentation of deliveries, pickups, and route activities throughout the workday.
- Follow safety protocols during all aspects of loading, unloading, driving, and package handling.
Skills
- Proven experience in delivery driving or courier services, with a focus on route driving.
- Customer service skills to interact professionally with clients during deliveries.
- Warehouse experience including load & unload operations using forklifts or pallet jacks is a plus.
- Ability to operate a box truck or similar commercial vehicle with manual transmission.
- Experience with heavy lifting and moving large or bulky items safely.
- Strong driving skills with a valid driver’s license or equivalent commercial driver’s license (CDL) preferred.
- Knowledge of safety procedures related to warehouse operations and vehicle operation.
