Caterpillar’s Law, Security & Public Policy Division (LSPP) is looking for a Senior Paralegal to join the Compliance team. Successful candidates will be comfortable learning and supporting multiple subject areas, be able to take initiative to lead projects, work independently, have an interest in legal compliance, and be organized.
The candidate will primarily support the Trade Legal attorneys as well as other Compliance attorneys who support business units. In this role, the candidate will work directly with these attorneys and other professionals both within and outside LSPP.
What You Will Do:
- Prepare quarterly regulatory trade risk filings, including working directly with Compliance team members to gather and review responsive documentation from business partners and present findings to LSPP leadership
- Prepare diligence reports and risk summaries for attorneys regarding potential business partners
- Conduct legal research regarding various trade laws and policies
- Open, manage, and close matters in accordance with company policies
- Maintain strong, collaborative relationships with internal business partners and stakeholders across Caterpillar’s Compliance program
- Top candidates will have relevant experience supporting legal or business unit trade functions as well as familiarity with Caterpillar's Ethics & Compliance program.

- Effective Communications: Understanding of effective communication concepts, tools and techniques; ability to effectively transmit, receive, and accurately interpret ideas, information, and needs through the application of appropriate communication behaviors
- Legal Analysis: Knowledge of methods and tools used in legal analysis; ability to read, interpret and draw accurate conclusions from both legal and factual information
- Legal Function: Knowledge of the major responsibilities, accountabilities, and organization of the legal function or department; ability to provide legal consulting, advice and assistance
Top Candidates will also have:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Strong organization skills
- Experience with researching regulations

- This is a fully onsite role Monday to Friday in office.

Summary Pay Range:
$87,480.00 - $131,280.00
Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
