Job Summary and Qualifications
As a Unit Secretary you will participate as an active member of the Nursing Team on the assigned unit/department. As a Unit Secretary you’ll work under the supervision of the Clinical Manager, Charge Nurse, or registered nurse and performs the receptionist and secretarial duties on the unit.We have an amazing team, apply today!
- You will be responsible for answering telephone calls, answering patient call lights and directing foot traffic on the assigned unit/department.
- You may be required to assume responsibilities for hospital switchboard task including but not limited to answering and directing incoming calls, signaling overhead alerts and pages, (including various “Code” calls) and initiating alarms.
- You will support patient safety initiatives and quality improvement activities.
- You will maintain current competency with skills required for the assigned unit/department, and demonstrate knowledge regarding you role in the assigned area.
Qualifications:
- You must have high school diploma or GED.
- You must have experience in Acute Care Setting Preferred.
- You must have knowledge of medical terminology and typing or previous computer experience.
- You must have five years’ experience (CA Critical Care areas only).
