We are seeking a motivated
Summer 2026 - Science Engagement Intern with a strong foundation in graphic design and coding to support science engagement projects that involve interactive digital products, templates, and visual communication for Earth and planetary science, and space exploration.
This is a temporary role not to exceed 12 weeks.
The
Summer 2026 - Science Engagement Intern will:
- Assist in the development of digital activity templates.
- Create products related to Earth and planetary science, and space exploration.
- Collaborate with Science Engagement specialists to translate technical concepts into intuitive visual and digital designs.
- Perform other duties as required.
Requisition Qualifications:
- Currently enrolled in an accredited university.
- Completed at least 45 credit hours.
- Minimum of 2.8 GPA.
- Coding experience (Python, HTML).
- Visual graphic design skills.
- Experience with Canva.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a collaborative environment.
- Strong communication skills.
Requisition Preferences:- Coursework or projects in Coding, Graphic Design, Digital Media, or related fields.

Essential Functions Work Environment Generally, an office environment, but can involve inside or outside work depending on task.
Physical Requirements Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods (90% of time). May require lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs. (5% of time).
Equipment and Machines Standard office equipment (PC, telephone, printer, etc.).
Attendance Regular attendance in accordance with established work schedule is critical. Ability to work outside normal schedule and adjust schedule to meet peak periods and surge requirements.
