Job Description
The Content Merchandising Executive plays a pivotal role in delivering Hayu’s editorial and merchandising strategy across the EMEA Networks and DTC business. Reporting into the Head of Content Strategy, this role will lead day‑to‑day merchandising execution—curating and optimising the layout of Hayu across platforms, devices, and audience segments. You’ll manage programming updates within both Hayu’s CMS and B2B partner systems, ensuring editorial campaigns are timely, engaging, and aligned with our brand voice.
This role operates across a wide spectrum of programming responsibilities, acting as a central hub for how content is positioned, scheduled, surfaced, and refreshed. You’ll work across multiple content areas ensuring that every programming decision ladders up to a cohesive, premium, and intuitive user experience.
You’ll collaborate with the Head of Content Strategy to develop fresh, creative ways for subscribers to discover new favourites or revisit iconic reality moments, all with the goal of deepening engagement, boosting retention, and increasing time spent on platform. A genuine love of reality TV is preferred, as is experience working with CMS tools or within the entertainment industry.

Key Responsibilities:
Platform Programming & Merchandising
- Execute and programme a data‑driven merchandising strategy that delivers an exceptional content discovery experience for Hayu subscribers.
- Curate, schedule and update the Hayu experience daily across DTC and partner platforms using the in‑house CMS and B2B partner systems
- Oversee a wide range of programming responsibilities—acting as a central hub for how content is positioned, scheduled, surfaced, and refreshed across multiple territories.
- Monitor and validate merchandising changes across regions to ensure accuracy, consistency, and brand alignment.
Campaign Execution & Creative Delivery
- Devise and implement pre‑roll strategy using AdManager, programming campaigns that deepen consumption and drive cross‑promotion.
- Partner with the internal Creative Agency to brief and deliver monthly on‑platform artwork, additional editorial images, pre‑roll assets, metadata, and promotional materials for both DTC and B2B partners.
- Ensure all creative and editorial elements are delivered on time for operations and are correctly implemented and optimised for subscriber impact.
Cross‑Functional Collaboration & Stakeholder Management
- Maintain and manage programming calendars for internal teams and external partners, ensuring clarity, accuracy, and forward visibility.
- Own and manage relationships with “Hayu Select” partners and other external stakeholders, ensuring they have everything required for successful programming execution.
- Work closely with Operations to communicate programming updates, troubleshoot content deliveries, and support domestic and third‑party content launches.
- Collaborate with Product teams to feed in programming updates, platform enhancements, and broader editorial needs.
- Work closely with CRM team to help identify programming priorities and campaign execution.
Editorial Planning & Strategic Support
- Maintain and evolve editorial and merchandising documents, planners, and programming frameworks.
- Support the Head of Content Strategy across business initiatives, programming strategy development, and cross‑functional projects.
- Partner with Data Engineering and Product to build a best‑in‑class merchandising performance dashboard, using insights to refine and evolve strategy.
- Contribute to identifying content acquisition opportunities
General & Ad‑Hoc Responsibilities
- Support wider business units—including Content, Operations, and Product—with ad‑hoc tasks and programming needs.
- Create and deliver content presentations for the Content team and broader business stakeholders.
Qualifications
Basic Requirements:
- Experience working in a content-focussed or media organisation, particularly in an editorial or scheduling role.
- Passionate and knowledgeable about TV content and reality TV especially.
- Current with pop culture and industry trends.
- Effective communicator.
- Excels in attention to detail.
- Works well under pressure, on tight deadlines.
- Competence working with programming tools.
- Ability to organise and prioritise multiple projects at a time.
- Resourceful, creative, and collaborative.
- A flexible attitude and team-oriented mentality.
- Eligible to work in the UK.
