Responsibilities: We are seeking an experienced Oracle Database Administrator with a solid track record in managing, maintaining, and optimizing Oracle databases. The ideal candidate will have at least 10 years of experience in Oracle database administration, with expertise in ensuring the integrity, performance, security, and availability of database systems. As a Senior Oracle DBA, you will play a critical role in supporting enterprise applications and guiding junior team members.
Key Responsibilities:
- Database Administration: Manage and administer Oracle databases, ensuring they are resilient, secure, and performant. Handle tasks such as backup/recovery, tuning, troubleshooting, and optimization.
- Performance Tuning: Perform detailed analyses to identify performance bottlenecks, apply tuning recommendations, and implement changes for enhanced database performance.
- Backup and Recovery: Develop, implement, and test backup and recovery strategies. Ensure recovery procedures are appropriate and regularly tested.
- Security Management: Implement and maintain database security protocols, including access controls, audits, and encryption mechanisms, ensuring compliance with relevant standards and policies.
- Database Design and Architecture: Collaborate with developers and architects to design efficient and scalable database architectures and schemas that support business objectives.
- Capacity Planning: Monitor database growth and forecast future needs to ensure scalability and optimal resource allocation.
- Troubleshooting and Support: Resolve complex database issues promptly, and provide support for database-related incidents and requests.
- Automation and Scripting: Develop scripts and automation tools to optimize routine database tasks and streamline operations.
- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive documentation of database procedures, architectures, and configurations for reference and training purposes.
- Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior DBAs and other IT staff, fostering a collaborative and growth-oriented environment.
- Act with integrity, professionalism, and personal responsibility to uphold the firm’s respectful and courteous work environment.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of 10 years experience as an Oracle DBA, with demonstrated expertise in Oracle.
- Strong knowledge of Oracle database management tools and technologies, including Oracle RAC, Data Guard, ASM, RMAN, and OEM.
- Proven experience with SQL and PL/SQL scripting and development. Familiarity with Unix/Linux operating systems, as well as Windows environments.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills. Project management experience is a plus.
