The Scheduler / Planner supports facility maintenance operations at NASA Marshall Space Flight Center by coordinating and maintaining schedules for maintenance and engineering activities. This role is responsible for documenting, tracking, and coordinating work activities, ensuring compliance with contractual requirements, and supporting end-of-month budget and schedule analysis.
The successful candidate will maintain accurate work status, manage scheduling priorities, and coordinate with customers, supervisors, and craft personnel to assist in timely completion of projects while maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform scheduler-planner duties including documenting, statusing, tracking, planning, and coordinating contractual maintenance and operations activities.
- Develop and maintain schedules using Microsoft Project or like software to support multiple short-duration projects and tasks.
- Maintain accurate work status and backlog information within work management systems and scheduling databases.
- Assist in identifying required support elements including access, permits, crafts, materials, and other resources needed for project execution.
- Monitor work progress during execution to ensure schedule accuracy and backlog validity.
- Conduct and document weekly status reviews, resolving discrepancies related to task completion dates and progress.
- Generate periodic reports to track job performance as directed.
- Perform end-of-month schedule and budget analysis, providing input and review to support contract performance and financial tracking.
- Interface with customers and internal teams to ensure work is scheduled effectively and customer expectations are met.
- Ensure all activities comply with applicable Federal, State, and local regulations, safety requirements, security requirements, and contractual obligations.
Required Qualifications
- High School Diploma or equivalent required; Associate Degree preferred.
- Minimum 3 years of related scheduling, planning, or project coordination experience.
- Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Project.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, and other Microsoft Office tools.
- Experience maintaining schedules, tracking progress, and coordinating multiple concurrent work activities.
- Strong organizational and documentation skills.
- Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to coordinate across multiple teams and customers. This will include assistance with weekly meeting presentations to management and customer.
Additional Requirements
- Ability to work onsite at NASA Marshall Space Flight Center.
- Ability to pass and maintain required security clearance, permits, licenses, or certifications as required.
