Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) is hiring a Business Operations Specialist (Level 4/5) to join a high-impact Manufacturing & Safety (M&S) Business Operations team in Everett, WA.
This role focuses on portfolio and project management, executive-level communication of performance vs. plan, safety management system oversight, coordination of business directives, cross-functional integration, and core business operations activities that enable enterprise outcomes. We seek a motivated, strategic thinker who excels at cross-functional collaboration, problem solving, and implementing change.
This is a hands-on business operations role that serves as a bridge between executive leadership and the cross-functional teams that execute M&S strategies. You will own the end-to-end process for translating executive direction into authorized work, measurable plans, and visible outcomes. You will synthesize multi-discipline inputs (e.g., engineering, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, safety, finance), drive integrated planning and risk management, ensure SMS alignment, and enable leaders to make timely, informed decisions. The role requires strong facilitation, communication, and delivery bias — you will lead governance forums and ensure follow-through to close actions.
Key Operations Activities:
Translate and deploy executive directives into traceable, actionable workstreams, ensuring prioritized implementation and compliance.
Maintain portfolio and program governance (visibility, decision logs, approvals) and lead change-control, business case refinement, and work authorization.
Align resources and funding with budgets, sourcing strategies, and cost imperatives through coordination with finance and resource owners.
Produce executive-level reporting and dashboards that synthesize schedule, cost, risk, and SMS/safety performance to support decision-making.
Capture, prioritize, and drive closure of issues and corrective actions; escalate unresolved items through governance.
Drive stakeholder alignment and cross-functional integration while applying program management best practices and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Translate executive direction into authorized work and integrated programs (scope, schedule, budget, change impact) to achieve long-range business objectives.
Oversee Safety Management System (SMS) alignment, ensuring safety risk controls, corrective actions, and safety metrics are integrated into program planning and execution.
Coordinate and deploy business directives across M&S and partners, maintaining traceability, compliance, and prioritized implementation.
Drive cross-functional integration (engineering, manufacturing, quality, supply chain, safety, finance), facilitate governance forums, resolve dependencies, and escalate blockers.
Develop and maintain visibility systems, dashboards, and executive-level briefings that synthesize schedule/cost/risk/safety performance and support approval decisions.
Manage issue/action closure, develop risk/mitigation plans and business cases, coach staff, and provide executive task support and strategic business advice.
Required Qualifications
10+ years of experience leading or managing projects involving cross-functional or cross-business unit teams.
10+ years of experience developing integrated program schedules, project plans, and/or performance metrics.
5+ years of experience using Microsoft Office tools, particularly PowerPoint and Excel, for data visualization and analysis.
Demonstrated strengths in business acumen, critical thinking, relationship building, problem solving, and adaptability.
Proven ability to present complex information clearly to senior leaders and influence outcomes.
Experience or familiarity with safety management system concepts, safety risk management, or safety assurance activities.
Demonstrated success driving cross-functional integration and resolving multi-discipline dependencies.
Preferred Qualifications
Program Management Professional (PMP) certification.
Proven experience collaborating directly with executive leadership and managing executive-level communications.
Prior responsibility for coordinating business directives or enterprise-level policy rollouts.
Experience with governance models and tools that enable multi-discipline program integration.
