What Will You Do:
- Manages multiple or complex engineering projects involving multiple functions, organizations, products, and/or value chains.
- Develop project scope to address business challenges and opportunities
- Cross functional collaboration with sales, manufacturing, value chain, marketing, product definition, and strategy teams.
- Manage system layouts and designs with both internal and external partners
- Overseeing projects progress and manage costs; communicating status with stakeholders and participating functional areas; addressing and resolving problems
- Manage test plan development and system/software validation activities
- Collaborate with development teams to drive critical customer requirements, develop validation plans based on risk priority numbers, and report or lead problem resolutions
- Develop new validation processes and tools to improve team velocity and quality
- Ensure simulation and modeling activities match VPD requirements
- Lead and manage FMEA and validation activities within the NPI process
- Direct project staffing: motivate and develop project team and team members
What You Will Have:
- A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in Engineering
- At least 15+ years of experience in design, simulation, analysis, Applications and testing
- Safety-first mindset
- Design and system integration experience
- System modeling and correlation experience
- Background in mechanical powertrain components (engine and transmission)
- Team Center database management experience
Top Candidates Will Have:
- System simulation and correlation experience using multiple VPD tools
- Experience with NPI and NTI
- Experience with field troubleshooting (mechanical, electrical, or software issues)
- Experience with Hardware-in-the-Loop (HIL) simulation and validation tools and processes
- Previous A&I, customer service, or DTO experience is a plus
- Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills
- Emphasis on initiative and self-starting tasks
What Will You Have:
- Product Design and Development: Knowledge of product features; ability to design, build, and develop a new product, technology, or service from concept through to production
- Requirements Analysis: Knowledge of tools, methods, and techniques of requirement analysis; ability to elicit, analyze and record required business functionality and non-functionality requirements to ensure the success of a system or software development project
- Technical Excellence: Knowledge of a given technology and various application methods; ability to develop and provide solutions to significant technical challenges
- Influencing Through Expertise: Knowledge of effective influencing tactics and strategies; ability to use these to deepen own expertise and impact or challenge decisions within and outside own organization.
- Project Management: Knowledge of effective project management strategies and tactics; ability to plan, organize, monitor, and control projects, ensuring efficient utilization of technical and administrative resources to achieve project objectives.
Summary Pay Range:
$147,760.00 - $221,640.00
Compensation and benefits offered may vary depending on multiple individualized factors, job level, market location, job-related knowledge, skills, individual performance and experience. Please note that salary is only one component of total compensation at Caterpillar.
