The Senior Financial Analyst – CCA Controllership plays a critical role in ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and accounting integrity across CCA inventory and cost of sales processes. This role partners closely with Operations, IT, Finance, and cross‑functional teams to support complex inventory transactions, system integrations, and non‑standard accounting activities while maintaining compliance with corporate policies and accounting standards.
The ideal candidate brings strong technical accounting knowledge, systems expertise, and the ability to navigate complex operational environments while driving efficient, well‑controlled accounting solutions.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and approve journal entries and account reconciliations to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with accounting standards.
- Own and oversee accounting activities within the CCA Inventory Mainframe System (IMS) , including:
- Monitoring daily transactions
- Managing month‑end reporting
- Identifying errors and partnering with IT and Operations to resolve issues
- Assessing accounting impacts to ensure accurate financial reporting
- Support Accounts Payable processes by approving manual payments and reviewing payments on hold due to audit flags or missing banking information.
- Collaborate closely with Operations and other CCA teams on warehouse processes and special or non‑routine transactions to ensure proper accounting treatment.
- Consult with cross‑functional partners and recommend accounting solutions for non‑standard transactions, leveraging existing system processes and minimizing manual workarounds where possible.
- Review and approve user access requests for CCA Controllership‑owned systems.
- Perform semi‑annual user access reviews and remediation activities to maintain compliance with internal controls.
- Maintain awareness of system changes (both Controllership‑owned and non‑owned), assess accounting impacts, and communicate relevant updates to the team.
- Maintain and update mainframe tables that impact accounting transactions and reporting processes, as required.
- Support CCA and corporate system implementations (e.g., PFM/SPOBARs replacement, WMS, Amazon Warehouse, DSW International Freight Forwarding) by identifying financial touchpoints and ensuring accounting integrity and accuracy.
- Perform control owner walkthroughs with internal and external auditors (EY and FA), covering inventory and cost of sales transactions, reconciliations, and journal entries.
- Partner with the Intercompany team to investigate and resolve accounts receivable imbalances between CCA and foreign allied entities.
- Provide accounting guidance and support to non‑CCA teams (e.g., GM Energy, GMD, PPO) related to inventory transactions and accounting topics.
- Support the CCA Finance team by providing direction, investigating issues, and recommending solutions that impact financial performance and reporting objectives.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 5+ years of progressive accounting or financial analysis experience, preferably within a large, complex organization.
- Strong knowledge of inventory accounting, cost of sales, and month‑end close processes.
- Experience reviewing journal entries and account reconciliations.
- Demonstrated understanding of internal controls, SOX compliance, and audit support.
- Ability to partner cross‑functionally with Operations, IT, Finance, and external auditors.
- Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills.
- Experience working with large‑scale financial systems or mainframe environments.
Preferred Qualifications
- CPA or CPA‑eligible.
- Experience supporting system implementations or large system conversions.
- Prior experience in a controllership or shared services environment.
- Familiarity with warehouse management systems (WMS), inventory platforms, or intercompany accounting.
