EMBERPOINT integrates advanced sensing technologies, artificial intelligence, and real-time command-and-control capabilities to help detect wildfires earlier, prevent escalation, and improve coordination between first responders, utilities, and emergency management organizations.
To support this mission, we are building a scalable cloud-based data platform that enables rapid ingestion, storage, and analysis of large volumes of operational and sensor data. We are seeking an Oracle Cloud Database Architect to architect, deploy, and operate the databases that power these mission-critical applications and analytics pipelines.
THE WORKAs the Oracle Cloud Database Manager, you will design and operate database environments that support the EMBERPOINT data platform. These databases will integrate with streaming ingestion pipelines and data lake services to enable real-time analytics, operational applications, and predictive wildfire intelligence.
You will work closely with data engineering, platform engineering, and application development teams to ensure the platform delivers high availability, strong performance, and secure data management.
Key Responsibilities· Architect, deploy, and operate relational and non-relational database environments in Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.
· Manage Oracle Database and Autonomous Database platforms supporting application and analytics workloads.
· Integrate databases with streaming ingestion technologies such as Kafka or OCI Streaming.
· Support integration with object storage and data lake environments.
· Implement and manage replication, high availability, and failover architectures.
· Design and maintain backup, snapshot, and point-in-time recovery (PITR) strategies.
· Optimize database performance through query tuning, indexing, and workload analysis.
· Implement and maintain security, encryption, and governance controls to protect sensitive data.
