Established in 2000, the John F. Welch Technology Center (JFWTC) in Bengaluru is our multidisciplinary research and engineering center. Engineers and scientists at JFWTC have contributed to hundreds of aviation patents, pioneering breakthroughs in engine technologies, advanced materials, and additive manufacturing.
Role Overview:
Lead and Execute the analysis / evaluation of assigned projects (around engine operational severity, supporting root cause investigations, and novel ways to predict and limit future occurrences) that meet business standards, practices and procedures and the product / program requirements.
Prepare reports and presents in technical and program reviews within the organization.
Monitor and communicate project status, business issues and significant developments as appropriate.
Properly document technical data generated for the assigned projects and/or tasks consistent with engineering policies and procedures.
Demonstrate a collaborative work style and display team-oriented behavior with a proactive approach to problem solving.
Ideal Candidate:
Required Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree in Engineering, Statistics, Machine Learning or related field with 6+ years of experience.
At least 3 years’ experience in aircraft engines turbo machinery dynamics/ performance/mechanical design/engineering tools
In-depth understanding of engineering technology and tools
Strong design creativity and problem-solving capabilities
Ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization both internally and externally
Any programming experience
Desired Qualification:
Master’s Degree/Ph.D in Engineering
Knowledge of physics-based modeling of failures using engineering modeling tools
Familiarity with aircraft flight operations and engine performance
Experience with Data driven models using statistics/ reliability/ probability /data mining techniques
Data quality experience – Work experience in Fielded engine data or Environmental data or Full flight data systems or Test cell data
Experience in Python/R/SQL Programming, Spotfire/R/Python Dashboard creation and implementation
Multi-disciplinary modeling & simulation experience
