THE WORK
In support of the Sikorsky Facilities Design, Construction and Engineering organization, oversee the management of major projects and rearrangement activity across all Connecticut sites, including strategic planning, design and construction, and preparation and monitoring of schedule and cost Responsibilities-Prepare and monitor capital and expense budgets to ensure compliance to established project budget and spend profile. Preparation and monitoring of project schedule Set up and oversee bidding and procurement of all materials and contracted services in support of projects Create and support Facilities strategic plans Support lean manufacturing and International Trade Compliance (ITC) initiatives across the organization Actively support value acceleration initiatives that directly affect Facilities Provide technical assistance to various Sikorsky entities in need of guidance related to project management and office planning (travel may be required) Work closely with Environment, Safety and Health (ESH) organization to provide support for initiatives and programs including Go Green energy reduction projects and the Facilities ESH Annual Plan

Basic Qualifications:
- 4+ years of experience designing oversight and planning participation for small to large scale capital and overhead construction projects for manufacturing sites
- Experience developing designs for new and renovated facilities
- Ability to communicate and coordinate with all stakeholders to ensure designs meet criteria for scope intent, quality, budget, and schedule
- Experience reviewing and ensuring application of proper building codes in project designs. Experience examining and approving engineering, architectural drawings and design computations to ensure compliance with sound engineering practices.
- Bachelor's degree or higher in mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, or a closely related field
- Experience managing oversight and/or preparation of reports, drawings and specifications for relatively complex projects making appropriate recommendations and design development decisions on small or large projects.
Desired Skills:
Strong knowledge of engineering design and construction, as well as the LEED certification process.
Strong knowledge in mechanical, electrical, civil, energy and structural engineering
Knowledge in building systems, HVAC, plumbing, electrical systems, energy conservation and fire protection.
Experience in project design, specification preparation and review, project scheduling, and some project cost estimating.
Experience in the bidding and review process
Basic knowledge of SAP for creating and tracking Purchase Requests and Purchase Orders preferred.
Strong organization, communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to present to internal and external customers
Team player willing to work in a creative, fast paced atmosphere.
Flexible and able to handle multiple tasks and changing priorities.
Effective presentation skills, both written and verbal.
Proficient in AutoCAD and Microsoft Project, Word, Power Point, and Excel.
Experience in the implementation of the LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification process
Experience in leading projects, as well as the proven ability to work effectively within a team environment
Possess strong adaptability skills including the ability to handle multiple tasks
Experience in reading and modifying Piping & Instrumentation Diagrams.
Experience in electrical Arc Flash and NFPA 70E electrical safety.
BS degree in engineering discipline w/6–10+ years experience
MS degree w/4–7+ years experience
PhD degree w/2–4+ years experience
Professional Engineer (P.E.) registration preferred
Management of bidding and procurement of all design requirements in support of assigned projects.
Participation in ES&HS activities including Safety and Contractor Review Board, PHRA, HRA and PHA initiatives, Facilities Annual Plan, etc.
Participation in Six Sigma initiatives including training, 3P and VSM events, QCPC, Root Cause Analysis, etc.
Provide technical assistance to various Sikorsky entities in need of guidance related to engineering design for factory and office planning (travel may be required)
Work closely with Energy Manager to provide support for Go Green initiatives.

Ability to Work Remotely: Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite at a designated Lockheed Martin facility.
Work Schedules: Lockheed Martin supports a variety of alternate work schedules that provide additional flexibility to our employees. Schedules range from standard 40 hours over a five day work week while others may be condensed. These condensed schedules provide employees with additional time away from the office and are in addition to our Paid Time off benefits.
Schedule for this Position: 4x10 hour day, 3 days off per week
