As a Platform Engineer, you will lead the design, implementation, and management of scalable, secure, and developer-friendly cloud-based development environments. Your role will be pivotal in transforming how engineering teams build, test, and deploy software by enabling efficient, cloud-native development workflows. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to align development infrastructure with business and engineering goals, ensuring high availability, performance, and security.
What you’ll do:
- Design enterprise-scale cloud environments supporting business-critical services across multiple teams and projects
- Develop and maintain Infrastructure as Code using Terraform and CloudFormation to provision environments across Dev, QA, PreProd, and Production.
- Architect, deploy, and operate Kubernetes platforms (EKS, AKS, OpenShift) using Helm and containerized deployment patterns.
- Partner with architecture, security, compliance, engineering, and application teams to ensure cloud platforms meet governance and regulatory standards.
- Automate provisioning, configuration, and lifecycle management of development environments using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools.
- Build and standardize CI/CD pipelines, identity providers, and developer tools.
- Monitor and optimize performance, cost, and user experience of cloud development environments.
- Establish best practices and governance for secure and compliant development workflows.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams adopting cloud-based development.
Experience you’ll need to have:
- 6+ years of hands-on AWS experience (2017–Present) delivering production infrastructure and platform services including EC2, S3, VPC, IAM, Lambda, CloudWatch, Glue, MWAA (Airflow), and OpenSearch.
- 3+ years of Azure experience designing and operating Azure Kubernetes Service (AKS) platforms with VNet networking, identity, and CI/CD integration.
- 6+ years of Infrastructure as Code experience using Terraform, including provisioning 100+ production resources and migrating environments from CloudFormation.
- 6+ years of Kubernetes and container platform experience across EKS, AKS, and OpenShift, including multi-cluster and 24x7 production environments.
- Familiarity with IDEs and developer workflows (coder.com, VS Code, JetBrains, etc.).
- 6+ years of Linux systems experience with strong scripting and automation using Python, Bash, SQL or PowerShell.
- Hands-on experience implementing enterprise observability platforms with measurable MTTR improvements.
- Bachelors in a related field or an equivalent combination of education, military, and work experience
Experience that would be great to have:
- 5+ years supporting financial services or other highly regulated enterprise environments.
- Experience designing and operating data platforms and analytics pipelines using AWS Glue, MWAA (Airflow), and modern table formats such as Apache Iceberg.
- AI-adjacent workload experience including embeddings, vector search, and OpenSearch KNN.
- Industry-recognized certifications such as Azure DevOps Engineer Expert, Azure Administrator Associate, or Terraform Associate.
- Master’s degree in related field.
