Responsibilities
1. Custodial Operations Leadership
- Provide strategic leadership and direction for custodial services across all DPS facilities.
- Establish and enforce service standards, cleaning methodologies, and performance expectations.
- Oversee zone‑based custodial management structure to ensure consistency across sites.
- Conduct regular operational reviews to ensure quality, cleanliness, and presentation standards are met.
2. Team Leadership & Workforce Management
- Lead, develop, and support custodial zone managers, assistant managers, and supervisory staff.
- Oversee staffing models, labor utilization, scheduling strategies, and workforce planning.
- Support hiring, onboarding, performance management, and progressive discipline processes.
- Promote accountability, safety, engagement, and continuous improvement across all custodial teams.
3. Client & Stakeholder Engagement
- Serve as the primary custodial services liaison for DPS leadership and stakeholders.
- Participate in client meetings, performance reviews, and operational planning discussions.
- Address escalations, service concerns, and special initiatives in a timely and professional manner.
- Partner with ABM senior leadership to ensure contract expectations and service-level objectives are met.
4. Safety, Compliance & Quality Assurance
- Ensure adherence to ABM policies, DPS requirements, OSHA standards, and regulatory compliance.
- Oversee chemical safety, equipment usage, PPE compliance, and training requirements.
- Support audit readiness, inspections, and corrective action planning.
- Monitor incident trends and lead corrective initiatives to reduce risk.
5. Financial, Materials & Contract Management
- Manage custodial budgets, labor costs, and supply expenditures.
- Oversee procurement, inventory, and distribution of custodial supplies and equipment.
- Identify opportunities for cost optimization, process improvement, and efficiency gains.
- Ensure contract deliverables, KPIs, and reporting requirements are fulfilled.
Qualifications
- 7–10+ years of experience in custodial, janitorial, or facilities operations.
- 5+ years of leadership experience managing managers, supervisors, or large teams.
- Demonstrated experience overseeing multi‑site or large institutional accounts.
- Strong understanding of custodial methods, cleaning systems, equipment, and safety standards.
- Proven ability to manage labor, budgets, and operational performance metrics.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage executive‑level stakeholders.
- Proficiency with reporting tools and basic business software (Microsoft Office preferred).
