Overview
The Assistant Director of Operations is responsible for the overall operational performance, service delivery, and financial outcomes of a large, multi‑site facilities portfolio. This role provides senior leadership across day‑to‑day operations, engineering, maintenance, safety, and client satisfaction, ensuring consistent execution of contractual obligations and ABM operational standards.
The Assistant Director of Operations oversees operational and engineering leadership teams, drives performance metrics, manages budgets, and serves as the primary escalation point for complex operational, personnel, and client matters.
Compensation: $130,000.00 - $150,000.00 annual salary (US Dollars)

Responsibilities
- Provide overall leadership and accountability for a large, multi‑site facilities operation, ensuring consistent service delivery and operational performance.
- Oversee day‑to‑day operations including maintenance, engineering, safety, staffing, and vendor management.
- Provide senior oversight of engineering and technical services through direct leadership of management teams.
- Own operational budgets, workforce planning, and cost control while meeting performance and service expectations.
- Ensure preventive maintenance programs, corrective repairs, and operational standards are executed consistently across sites.
- Support and oversee capital projects and major initiatives, ensuring smooth transition into ongoing operations.
- Serve as the primary escalation point for complex operational, personnel, and service issues.
- Ensure compliance with safety programs, regulatory requirements, company policies, and contractual obligations.
- Lead, coach, and develop operations and engineering leaders, promoting accountability, consistency, and continuous improvement.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders and partners.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of progressive facilities, operations, or engineering experience, including senior leadership experience.
- Proven ability to manage managers, budgets, and complex operational environments.
- Strong working knowledge of facilities operations and building systems.
- Experience overseeing engineering, maintenance, or technical service functions at a leadership level.
- Strong financial, organizational, and decision‑making skills.
- Ability to communicate effectively with senior leaders, clients, and cross‑functional partners.
- Demonstrated leadership presence with the ability to drive results and accountability.
Computer Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Experience with CMMS platforms preferred.
