Lead the design, development, integration, and testing of advanced avionics products, including Head-Up Display systems, Helmet Mounted Display systems, vision systems, and innovative display products for the commercial, corporate, and military aircraft markets.

Characterize, test, and develop sophisticated algorithms for optical systems to enhance display performance and reliability.
-
Define and manage system-level requirements, including preparation of system specifications, system descriptions, wiring diagrams, interface control documents, and sub-assembly requirement documentation.

Provide conceptual system designs to decompose high-level requirements into actionable lower-level requirements; collaborate closely with hardware engineering teams to ensure alignment between system functions and design implementations.

Lead and participate in system design reviews in accordance with MIL-STD-1521 or similar internal processes, ensuring compliance with customer and regulatory standards.

Develop system integration cases and procedures for optical components and sub-assemblies, ensuring seamless integration into avionics systems.

Manage the planning and execution of system verification and validation activities, including creating traceability artifacts from system functional requirements.

Create and present technical content for all design reviews, both internal and external, with a focus on delivering high-quality systems that meet program objectives.

Proactively identify potential technical and programmatic risks, propose solutions, and ensure timely resolution to maintain project schedules and budgets.

Mentor junior engineers and provide technical leadership within a multidisciplinary team to bring innovative products to market.

Willingness to travel up to 25% or as needed.

Qualifications you must have:
-
Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 3 years of experience

Demonstrated professional experience communicating in English (verbal and written).

U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
Qualifications We Prefer:
-
Experience in requirements definition and verification, including interface definition and a solid understanding of physics, electrical, mechanical, structural, and/or optical design.

Experience with Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) methodologies and tools (e.g., Cameo, Rhapsody, MagicDraw) for system design and requirement management.
-
Experience with military avionics deployment and testing.
-
Hands-on experience performing optical tests in a lab environment, including the use of specialized equipment.
-
Familiarity with display testing methodologies and augmented reality display systems.
-
Proficiency with MATLAB for data analysis, algorithm development, and system modeling.
