Shopbop, the leading online fashion boutique and Amazon subsidiary, is seeking a Summer Buying Intern to join our team. Immersed in a 10 Week Program, you will be an integral part of our buying operations, supporting vendor relationships, purchase order management, and reporting processes that drive our business goals. You will collaborate with the Buying team to maintain optimal inventory levels, resolve SIMs, process RTVs, and contribute to the success of our fashion-forward product assortment. This position requires a keen eye for fashion trends, excellent organizational skills, and a results-oriented mindset to thrive in our fast-paced retail environment.
Key job responsibilities
Assist with vendor set up, purchase order entry and maintenance while ensuring accuracy and timeliness of all documentation. Monitor product selling performance and identify reorder opportunities to maintain optimal inventory levels. Resolve SIMs (Supplier Information Management) issues and process RTVs (Return to Vendor) entries efficiently.
Generate and analyze reports for the Buying team to support data-driven decision making. Build and maintain professional relationships with key vendors through effective communication and follow-through. Apply retail math skills to perform business analyses that support buying decisions and inventory optimization.
A day in the life
Our day begins by reviewing sales reports to identify top-selling items and potential reorder opportunities. You'll collaborate with buyers to enter and maintain purchase orders, ensuring our inventory meets customer demand. Throughout the day, you'll resolve vendor issues through the SIM system, process necessary RTVs, and generate customized reports that provide valuable insights for the buying team. You'll communicate professionally with external partners, ensuring all vendor relationships are maintained with the highest standards.

Basic Qualifications
- Currently working towards a bachelor's degree in retail merchandising or related field with an expected conferral date between December 2026 and May 2027
- Work, internship, or other leadership experience in a professional environment
- Computer skills, including Microsoft Office (e.g., Excel, Word) and ability to quickly learn new systems
- Familiarity with and interest in fashion trends, designers, and ecommerce
- Strong attention to detail

- Experience that includes strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and effective communication abilities

The starting pay for this position is listed below. Final starting pay will be based on factors including experience, qualifications, and location.
