The Role
We are seeking a Senior Associate to join our team, where they will serve as a key technical resource supporting both internal leadership and client-facing teams. This role is responsible for researching complex accounting issues, developing and maintaining firmwide accounting policies, and ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP, SEC regulations, and PCAOB standards.
The ideal candidate will bring a strong foundation in public accounting and SEC reporting, along with the ability to translate technical guidance into clear, actionable insights. This position offers the opportunity to work across a global organization, collaborate with senior stakeholders, and play a critical role in shaping the firm’s accounting framework and technical capabilities.
Core Responsibilities
- Serve as a technical accounting and policy subject-matter expert for internal leadership and client-facing service teams
- Develop, maintain, and oversee the firm’s accounting policy framework, ensuring policies reflect current U.S. GAAP, SEC guidance, and industry considerations
- Research complex accounting issues (e.g., revenue recognition for services, consolidation, leases, business combinations, equity structures) and prepare well-supported technical memos
- Provide technical consultations to engagement teams supporting clients on complex transactions and reporting matters
- Monitor new FASB, SEC, and PCAOB pronouncements; assess firm impact and lead implementation and training
- Support internal quality control and risk management processes, including policy compliance reviews
- Assist with preparing financial reporting disclosures and SEC filings related to the firm
- Prepare and review detailed footnote disclosures for financial statements and SEC filings
- Ensure accurate reconciliation of local statutory reporting to U.S. GAAP reporting for global entities
- Develop and deliver training programs, technical updates, and educational sessions for partners, managers, and staff
- Collaborate with legal, HR, operations, and finance teams on firmwide initiatives with accounting implications
The Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) required
- 4+ years of progressive accounting experience, including:
- Public accounting experience (required)
- SEC reporting experience (required)—either preparing filings or auditing SEC registrants
- Strong technical knowledge of U.S. GAAP, SEC rules, PCAOB standards, and reporting/disclosure requirements
- Proven experience drafting high quality technical accounting memos and policy guidance
- Proficiency in consolidation accounting for a global organization
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience within professional services preferred, such as audit, technical accounting advisory, financial reporting advisory, or transaction advisory
- Familiarity with emerging issues impacting professional services firms (e.g., revenue recognition for arrangements with multiple performance obligations, contract based services, equity compensation for partners/staff, intangible assets, consolidations, acquisitions, and valuations)
- Understanding of internal controls, quality assurance frameworks, and documentation standards expected in client-service environments
- Experience working with multiple stakeholders, partners, and engagement teams across service lines
- Experience developing and maintaining global accounting policies and procedures

- Ability to distill complex technical issues into clear, actionable guidance for internal teams and client-service professionals

- Proficiency with accounting research tools, SEC research platforms, and Microsoft Office applications
- Strong team player with the ability to collaborate effectively across global teams and multiple stakeholders
Compensation and Benefits
Our firm offers a competitive base salary and comprehensive benefits package designed to support the well-being, growth, and long-term success of our people. Salary Range: For individuals hired to work in New York, the expected salary range for this role is $93,600 to $128,500. Actual compensation will be determined based on the candidate’s qualifications, experience, and skill set.
Benefits: Employees (and their families) are eligible for medical, dental, vision, and basic life insurance coverage. Employees may enroll in the firm’s 401(k) plan upon hire.
