Caterpillar is looking for a Category Buyer to join our procurement organization and help deliver maximum value across our supply network.

Your job duties may include…
- Executing category strategies aligned to Senior Buyer and ELITE CPPD team
- Identifying cost reduction, inventory optimization, and quality improvement opportunities while evaluating business proposals and risks
- Acting as the main point of contact between Caterpillar and suppliers, ensuring alignment with production needs and capabilities
- Monitoring, documenting, and managing supplier performance related to delivery, responsiveness, and production reliability
- Supporting strategic sourcing initiatives, continuous process improvement, and ensuring compliance with procurement regulations and contracts through the use of procurement systems and tools
You will have…
- A university degree or equivalent practical experience
- Working knowledge of purchasing tasks, procurement processes, and contract compliance
- Data analytics skills, with the ability to collect, analyze, interpret, and present business-related data to support decision-making
- Strong communication skills in English, both written and verbal, with the ability to clearly present information and collaborate effectively
- The ability to build productive relationships across functions and with external suppliers
- A proactive, analytical mindset with attention to detail and continuous improvement

- Detail oriented project management experience
- Experience with category management, strategic sourcing, or supplier relationship management
- Basic understanding of negotiation principles and contract administration
- Experience working with ERP or procurement systems
- The ability to adapt communication and collaboration styles to different stakeholders and situations
