Job Title: Logistics Senior Analyst - Inter-Plant Trailer and Material Transfer
Location: Richmond, VA
What we are looking for:
The Logistics Senior Analyst – Inter-Plant Trailer and Material Transfer directs the strategic coordination and optimization of material movement between Hillphoenix facilities. This role is responsible for the independent oversight of inter-plant trailer logistics, utilizing data-driven analytics to evaluate operational efficiency and maintain the integrity of the supply chain. The Senior Analyst exercises autonomous decision-making to resolve complex inventory variances and manage critical vendor performance, ensuring seamless material flow in support of high-level production objectives.
What you will be responsible for in this role:
- Strategic Planning & Coordination: Design and authorize daily inter-plant shipment schedules to meet fluctuating production requirements. Independently evaluate distribution center movements to mitigate potential delivery risks.
- Operational Oversight: Determine the necessity and priority of trailer movement requests; authorize and validate documentation to ensure regulatory and operational compliance.
- Inventory Governance: Manage and reconcile complex inventory discrepancies. Conduct independent investigations into variances and implement corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
- Cross-Functional Leadership: Serve as the primary decision-maker and liaison between Materials, Production, and Quality teams to resolve critical material handoff issues.
- Vendor Management: Serve as the primary point of accountability and escalation for contracted trailer dispatch teams. Evaluate carrier performance and negotiate service alignments to maintain operational continuity.
- Analytics & Reporting: Analyze key operational metrics to formulate daily and weekly performance reports. Provide expert recommendations to management for process improvements and waste reduction.
- Compliance & Safety Management: Establish and enforce operational standards for packaging and transport, ensuring all activities align with corporate safety and quality benchmarks.
What are the basic qualifications?
- Bachelor’s degree required (or equivalent professional experience).
- 5-8 years of experience in supply chain or logistics, demonstrating a track record of independent project management and operational analysis.

- Advanced Analytical Skills: Proficiency in interpreting complex data sets to drive business decisions.
- Expert Communication: Ability to influence and collaborate with cross-functional leadership
- Associate or bachelor’s degree in engineering or supply chain management
