The Opportunity
As a Senior Environmental Consultant, you will play a key role in delivering high‑quality planning and environmental services across a diverse portfolio of projects. You will lead environmental impact assessments and approvals processes, advise clients on approvals pathways and environmental risk, and contribute to strategic planning outcomes in line with legislative and best‑practice requirements.
You will also have the opportunity to develop your technical expertise, mentor junior team members, and support business development, while working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary consultancy environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead and manage environmental approvals, planning projects and environmental impact assessments for major infrastructure, renewables, mining and government projects
- Scope, plan and deliver environmental assessment and approvals projects from feasibility through to approval
- Provide advice on approvals pathways, environmental constraints and project risk
- Manage project teams and ensure high‑quality technical and commercial outcomes
- Build and maintain strong client relationships across South Australia
- Support business development initiatives and contribute to strategic growth
About You
You are a motivated and commercially minded environmental professional who thrives in a consulting environment and enjoys working on complex projects.
You will bring:
- Excellent communication, stakeholder engagement and project management skills
- A proactive mindset and curiosity to continuously develop your technical capability
- The ability to manage competing priorities and deliver outcomes to deadlines
- Confidence working independently while collaborating within multidisciplinary teams
Qualifications & Experience
- Strong working knowledge of South Australian legislation including the Planning, Development and Infrastructure Act, Hydrogen and Renewable Energy Act, Mining Act, and Commonwealth EPBC Act
- Extensive experience delivering environmental approvals in South Australia or interstate
- Experience managing project budgets and proposal work packages within your discipline
- Degree in Environmental Planning, Environmental Science or a related discipline
