Purpose and Impact:
Amentum is seeking a Painter to join our team of passionate individuals in McLean, VA.
Work Schedule: Monday – Thursday 4:30pm – 2:30am
Essential Responsibilities:
JOB FUNCTION: Prepare, finish and paint walls, woodwork, fixtures and equipment as assigned.
Major Duties and Responsibilities:
- Prepare, finish and paint walls and ceiling, woodwork, and fixtures to include prep work and caulking.
- Repair plaster and sheetrock walls to include tape, block, skim and sand.
- Determine the type of paint required for application to different surfaces.
- Paint mechanical and electrical equipment.
- Mix paint ingredients to obtain proper color and consistency.
- Performs other job-related tasks.
- Perform minor plasterwork to include scratch coat and finish coat.
Work Environment, Physical Demands, and Mental Demands: Incumbents may work in conditions that require operating industrial machinery/power tools and motor vehicles. Additionally, incumbents may participate in work that requires walking, bending, squatting, and carrying materials throughout the facility. Workplace conditions necessitate following strict safety guidelines and the use of Personal Protective Equipment. Work tasks requiring the incumbent to lift weight more than 50 pounds requires two or more persons.

Minimum Requirements (Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities):
- Must be able to read and interpret blueprints.
- Ability to comprehend written and oral instructions.
- A willingness to work shift if necessary, including days, evenings, and nights as well as overtime, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Ability to write correspondence.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
Minimum Years of Experience:
- Four years’ experience relating to painting, spray painting, plastering, and spackling.
Minimum Education:
- High school, GED, technical school, apprenticeship, trade school graduate or equivalent required.
Security Clearance Required:
- Must be a U.S. Citizen, able to obtain and maintain a Top Secret Security Clearance.
