Job Description:
Your Work Shapes the World at Caterpillar Inc.
When you join Caterpillar, you're joining a global team who cares not just about the work we do – but also about each other. We are the makers, problem solvers, and future world builders who are creating stronger, more sustainable communities. We don't just talk about progress and innovation here – we make it happen, with our customers, where we work and live. Together, we are building a better world, so we can all enjoy living in it.
The Program Manager – Value Chain leads the global Delivered In Full On Time (DIFOT) program, defining a customer-back parts availability metric that measures services experience from the perspective of Mining customers. Measuring and improving DIFOT is a key enabler to achieve our Physical Availability targets and deliver measurable customer outcomes. This role sets the vision, strategy, and execution roadmap for DIFOT development and deployment across the value chain, working directly with dealers, large mining customers, and cross‑division partners. This is a highly visible role, serving as the face of the DIFOT program to internal and external stakeholders while driving sustainable improvements in availability, governance, and performance. In addition, the role supports all aftermarket value chain related strategy development and execution.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead the global DIFOT program end‑to‑end, including strategy, process development, customer deployment, and performance governance.
Develop and execute the DIFOT vision and strategy, including integration with key enablers such as PRISM (Proactive Integrated Supply Management) and Rebuild Execution programs to improve timely parts delivery and customer experience.
Serve as DIFOT program owner for onboarding global mining strategic customers.
Act as the primary external and internal ambassador for the DIFOT program, engaging directly with Resource Industries (RI) customers, RI dealers, and internal partners.
Lead customer‑facing projects in partnership with dealers and customers to implement DIFOT, remove barriers, and deliver measurable improvements in aftermarket availability.
Design and govern a multi‑workstream strategic plan (short‑, mid‑, and long‑term) with clear accountability, ownership, and execution rigor across the value chain.
Develop and own DIFOT processes, data, and reporting platforms, and ensure alignment with related parts availability measurements and reporting such as On Time In Full (OTIF), Territorial Dealer Availability (TDA).
Drive governance and visibility of DIFOT performance, recognizing DIFOT as a critical input to Physical Availability (PA) and the RISST PA Scorecard, reviewed weekly by executive leadership.
Partner cross‑functionally across Caterpillar divisions, supply chain, product support & logistics, digital, analytics, and commercial teams to bring this new strategy to life globally.
Support value chain strategy development and KPI governance through data analytics and digital solutions.
What skill you will have:
Technical Excellence: Strong experience in demand planning, parts distribution, and aftermarket supply chain.
Service Excellence: Deep understanding of end‑to‑end drivers of availability, including planning, supply, distribution, and customer delivery.
Customer Focus: Proven experience working directly with dealers and end customers to implement operational improvements.
Data Gathering & Analysis: Ability to organize, interpret, and govern data analytics and KPI reporting to drive decisions and performance.
Consulting: Demonstrated ability to define vision, translate strategy into execution, and deliver results over short‑ and long‑term horizons. Ability to lead complex, global programs with clear governance, accountability, and KPI ownership.
Top Candidates will also have:
