Work You’ll Do
Help clients develop tax-aligned compensation and benefits programs that address their global and domestic needs. Work with clients to streamline their programs while reviewing tax effectiveness, risks, and costs. Assist clients with developing the strategies, processes, and technologies that affect their staff and operations on a worldwide scale. Responsible for reviewing internal resources and working directly with clients to provide expatriate and foreign-national tax compliance and consulting services to multi-national clients. Review individual income tax returns, conduct US tax law research, review tax consulting projects, and assist in the administration of company tax programs. Utilize knowledge in expatriate and foreign national tax compliance, tax equalization policy implementation/consulting, and monitoring of international assignee populations of multi-national clients. Utilize experience with the individual income tax issues and tax law including foreign national and expatriate issues, foreign tax compliance and the tax equalization process.
Requirements
Bachelor's (or higher) degree in Accounting, Business Administration, Finance, or related field (willing to accept foreign education equivalent) plus eighteen months as Tax Senior or related occupation gaining experience providing global mobility tax advisory services, including expatriate taxation or expatriate compensation analysis.
Position requires eighteen months of:
- advising on individual income tax issues pertaining to expatriates and foreign nationals, tax compliance in jurisdictions outside of the U.S., and the tax equalization process, and applying taxation concepts to social security implications associated with international assignments;
- determining foreign countries' tax reporting requirements and applying revenue code sections by conducting research on global mobility topics,
- including technical or treaty interpretation and payroll issues, and income tax treaties to host country tax laws for expatriate and inpatriate populations;
- preparing assignment cost analysis, advising on home and host country tax implications, coordinating with relocation vendors and local payroll, and conducting pre-departure orientation and repatriation meetings with clients;
- utilizing tax software to compute taxes, conduct research, and integrate with internal tracking tools;
- assisting with project financials and billing processes for engagements;
- utilizing tax research tools to provide tax compliance and consulting services to global business travelers; and
- mentoring junior staff and interns and collaborating with both onshore and offshore teams on the compliance process workflow.
