Barclays is seeking a US Investment Grade Credit Research, AVP, to join our team. In this role, you will focus on evaluating energy issuers, developing forward‑looking credit views, and delivering actionable insights that directly support portfolio construction and risk management. You will conduct deep fundamental credit analysis across the energy sector, including upstream, midstream, downstream, and oilfield services. The team also emphasizes longer term thematic research about the energy sector and implications for credit issuers.
To be successful as a US Investment Grade Credit Research, AVP, you should have:
Advanced Excel proficiency, including data evaluation, modeling, and efficient use of formulas and functions
Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to convey highly detailed information clearly
Ability to interpret public filings and company disclosures including fluency with financial statement analysis
Knowledge of the energy sector, including key industry drivers and terminology
Foundational understanding of market news and current events, with familiarity using platforms such as Bloomberg
Some other highly valued skills may include:
Considerable desire to learn and continuously expand knowledge
FINRA SIE, series 7 and 63 or willingness to obtain
Understanding of and demonstrated interest in applying AI, with the ability to quickly learn new tools, technologies, and proprietary systems
Exposure to credit research with the capacity to build on existing evaluative skills

Minimum Salary: $105,000
Maximum Salary: $130,000

Purpose of the role
To support Research Analysts in the production and delivery of Research with differentiated market insights and actionable ideas to Barclays Clients.
Accountabilities
- Compilation and analysis of data to help Analysts develop investment theses for their coverage areas.
- Presentation of Research views to Barclays Clients by helping to prepare materials or responses to client questions.
- Collaboration with the Analyst, Supervisory Analyst, Compliance and other stakeholders to help ensure Research is produced and delivered to Clients and internal stakeholders in a compliant manner.
